Is iOS 17 on iphone compatible with MacOS Monterey

My iphone updated to OS 17 and is no longer recognized on my desktop running Monterey 12.7.5. I'm using a macpro 2013


iPhone 6, iOS 12

Do note, that the "Locations" section in your screenshot is closed. So you won't see any devices there, not even your Mac's hard drive. Hover your mouse over the locations title so the ">" appears and click on it to expand the section.


It should then show the iPhone there when connected.

My iphone does not even exist as far as OS Monterey 12.7.5 is concerned. I will have to upload everything to icloud and download from there I guess. But what about backups of my iphone?
