iOS 18 Disable Video Looping in Photos App?

I have been looking everywhere with no luck but thought I would ask here. Is there any way to disable the auto-looping of videos in the Photos app in iOS18? After upgrading now if I play a video to auto-repeats in an endless loop until you stop it where in the past it would stop at the end of the video.

I dislike this feature since I often show others videos on my phone and find it very annoying that the video instantaneously loops back to the beginning when it finishes playing. Sometimes this makes it hard to tell for sure if the video has finished or looped and it's always a nuisance if I need to talk to the person about the video once it finishes playing, especially if it happens to be a video that's quiet for a few seconds at the end and I've forgotten to close the Photos app.

Just talked to apple support and currently in 18 you can't disable it, but he suggested I leave a comment here to have them change it back in future versions.

Maybe if we all do that, something might get done in the next version.

This comment by JC3476 would fix the whole issue for me. Thanks. He said ..

Well, I hope JC3476 and you both told Apple you would like this. Telling other users in the user-to-user forum will not make it happen→Product Feedback - Apple

Didn’t get it with 18.0.1 … why???

Because Apple isn’t going to go to the expense and effort to fix a minor annoyance to a few users. It may be in a future update if thousands of users request it in https://apple.com/feedback, but just post in this user-to-user forum doesn’t move the needle. Have you provided feedback, for a start?

I hate the looping video. I hate the teeny tiny display that I cannot see. (What happened to Apple’s ADA compliance team?) I hate the duplicate notifications of “comments” on shared photos. What an annoying mess this is. Constantly drawing my attention to this program makes me hate Apple. And I have used it since the beginning. Please restore some semblance of simplicity.

These changes are entirely pointless, in some cases buggy, and do not benefit the end user! Fix the leaking roof of features that have needed fixing forever instead of moving the furniture around in the room and calling it a new house!

Why are you telling us? We can't do anything about it. Tell Apple using the Feedback link already provided.

Personally, I like the new version of Photos and find it much more user friendly. I'm not alone.

There are thousands of features that are “forced on users”, starting with the very first iPhone, which had thousands of features never before seen on a cell phone. Virtually every function an iPhone has (or an Android phone, for that matter) was “forced on users”.

And the simple solution is to hit the pause button when it restarts.

Plenty of reasons. Often new connections don’t show unless you disable and then enable again. To disconnect multiple devices at one time. To stop a frozen connection easier than going into the individual connection with multiple extra touches.

Interesting that in 17 years of using iPhones, none of those issues has ever happened to me. I have never turned off Bluetooth for any reason, and all of my BT devices have always worked perfectly.
