I ordered my iphone 16 pro max at 5AM PDT on september 13, initially it was supposed to arrive today, friday september 20. On "my orders", it still says that it´s friday september 20, but when I track it in UPS it says it will arrive on monday. Is there any way I can know for sure when it will arrive? Also, the package is currently 5 hours away from my location.

You are NOT speaking with anyone from Apple here. This is a user to user only forum. As such we don't know what's up with your order or for that matter anything about your order.
You need to contact Apple directly for help. Since you are in the US, you can call Apple at: 800-MY-APPLE and make sure you know your order number.
Exactly the same! I got a new desert gold and a black. Received the gold yesterday, but the black one delayed from Sep 20 to 30, and now it further delayed to Oct 14-21. I called in and asking if somebody messed up my order, but they cannot find anything wrong. My friend who bought it a day later than me still have an ETA of Oct 7. So I am totally confused. Have you figured it out?
The exact same thing happened to me, said that it was on the truck for delivery on the 20th and then all of a sudden said that customer requested Saturday delivery at a better time. I made no such call I really do hope that UPS gets called out for lying to their customers it’s now Saturday and it still says it’s two states away now in Kentucky.
Mine went from out for delivery to being held by a government agency. The next day, today, it was back out for delivery, before being rescheduled for three days from now because my business was closed, even though this is a home, not a business. I do wonder if this is related to this week’s exploding pagers and walked-talkies…

UPS tracking shows arriving today by noon. It's currently 6 pm. No change to tracking and of course ups customer service does not know anymore than what I can see for tracking. On a positive note, the return box for my trade in has arrived on time 😂
Verizon lied to me. lie after lie. they said it was shipped. then they said ill get a tracking number 09/20-09/21. they also said ill get it today. then they said they have to cancel my order and get it delivered in october. in tired of the lies

What does this have to do with Apple? You ordered the phone from Verizon.
This is happening to me too. I ordered the iPhone 16 Pro Max. All looked good until It got to East Syracuse NY. UPS claimed “Your package is pending release from a non-UPS broker. Contact the non-UPS broker for additional information.” Which I understand is customs. (I live in Canada). I’ve been quoted a delivery for Sep 20th, now Sep 24th… interested to see what will happen and if I will receive my iPhone on Tuesday.
How I ordered mine from Verizon and pre-ordered it at that on September 13th. Was told it would be here on the 20th . No phone came info say the order was placed nothing more nothing less. Now they told me today no one on Verizon has the iPhone 16pro max yet. The lies they tell. I’m just probably about to cancel the order. And return everything I bye for the phone . That came before it did . Sad this will Definitely be my last iPhone

So you’re blaming Apple for a phone you ordered, NOT from Apple, but from Verizon? Why you think this is Apple’s fault is a mystery. Your beef should be with Verizon. And if you think Verizon will honestly do better with another manufacturers phone, that too doesn’t make sense. You should be complaining to Verizon, not complaining on an Apple forum. You didn’t buy the phone from Apple.
I’m in the same boat—delivery for the 20th is now up in the air because my iPhone ended up one state over and didn’t make the truck/trailer yesterday. My main concern is I’m part of the Apple Upgrade Program, and the return kit for my old phone is supposed to arrive any day now. I know I have 14 days to return it, but what happens if my new iPhone keeps getting delayed? Not sure how that’ll play out.
Well you are doing better than I am. I ordered mine Sept 14th and it is saying October 8-15th. I ordered the Black Titanium. Really surprised Apple did not have a better projection of what would be sold. Kind of bad business planning. I know they premade so many for Apple Stores and Carriers but they are leaving long time customers behind. I have been using Apple products since the iPhone 3G. Then they wonder why they are losing market share.
The frustration I have experienced with this most recent IPhone 16 release is off the charts. I have no idea how Apple could possible have spent millions on a AI box display in New York when we don’t even have AI capabilities for another month possible as well as they did not make enough phones for the release. I have seen a couple theories around but I think it comes down to them having over paid incompetent employees. I mean come on they did not even hire the assemblers until a month prior to launch. I ordered on 13th of September just like most and now I have to wait 2 days shy of a month for it to even be shipped, absolutely uncalled for!!

Same, I ordered my iPhone 16 Pro Max on the 13th but slept in an hour (oops), ended up ordering at 9:00am EST instead of 8:00am EST. Mine is supposed to arrive on 2nd-7th Oct, this year is such a minor update, why’s there so much demand? Crazy.

It really isn't such a minor update, when you consider the only previous iPhone's which will be able to get ANY of the new Apple Intelligence features are iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max. That leaves a HUGE number of people out. Plus previous years haven't been what are super up-cycle's as there are millions upon millions still using iPhone 11, 12, 13 and 14, putting them in the perfect spot to upgrade this year.
