iTunes 12.13.3.2 Crashing During iPhone 14 Restore on Windows 11 Pro

I’m experiencing a frustrating issue with iTunes version 12.13.3.2 on my Windows 11 Pro machine. Every time I try to restore my iPhone 14 (currently on iOS 17.x), iTunes crashes midway through the process. The application becomes unresponsive, and the restore fails. My iPhone also remains with logo and progress bar in midway. Here are a few key details:

  • iTunes Version: 12.13.3.2
  • OS: Windows 11 Pro (64-bit)
  • iPhone Model: iPhone 14
  • iOS Version: iOS 17.x

I’ve already tried the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. Reinstalled iTunes.
  2. Ensured that both iTunes and iOS are up to date.
  3. Restarted my PC and iPhone in recovery mode.
  4. Tried using different USB cables and ports.

Unfortunately, none of these have worked. Has anyone else encountered this issue, or is there a known fix? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Had the same problem.

Removed the Microsoft Store version of Itunes and installed the .exe version. Ran it as Administrator and then it worked.

I am an amateur ... smarter folks will hopefully jump in ...

but the first thing I would do is inspect my list of installed programs

and see if any/all of the following are installed:

  1. Apple Music
  2. Apple TV
  3. Apple Devices for Windows

If they are installed, uninstall them, reboot, and try again.

I still no go, uninstall & reinstall iTunes

The programs above and iTunes do not play well together :-(
