iPhone 16 Pro Max - Touch Screen Sensitivity Issues

I have the same problem. Typing on my iPhnr 16 pro max feels like typing on a cheap Android phone right now. Huge difference from typing on my iPhone 14Pro Max even after the software update (18.0.1) Really annoying!!!

I agree, it is not completely fixed after the software update.

this new phone is still acting weird, especially when I try to type fast writing a paragraph. It’s just all over the place. I think i will just get a 16 pro instead.

Even after updating to iOS 18.0.1 I am having issues with and without the screen protector most notably when pressing the backspace on the keyboard. It fails to register each touch input.

What I am more afraid of is that if apple will address this in the future software update or not.

I've just moved back to Iphone after 7 years on Android, the dead areas, keyboard lag and scrolling issues made me regret it. Still have a week to decide whether to keep it or go back to android. Unless it's fixed I can't see myself putting up with it for long.

I’ll just state “me too”. So frustrating. I moved from a 15 Pro Max to this 16 Pro Max and using the phone is an exercise in patience. I really dislike this phone because of this screen issue. I loaded 18.0.1 this morning with high hopes but it did nothing. Nothing worse than when you’re making a purchase, hit the “Buy” button, it’s states not to hit it twice, but nothing is happening. Is the web page slow, or did this **** iPhone not register my tap?

My wife’s 16 Pro does the same thing. Very frustrating.

Hello! I have a problem with the sensitivity of the sensor on 16 pro max. doesn't always work. especially in the area on the right. It's awkward to type. 18.0.1 did not correct the situation. Is this a problem with the update or can I return the phone to the store?

I’m in the exact same situation, I upgraded from the iPhone 15 Pro to the iPhone 16 Pro Max, and I noticed that the keyboard and touch response feel sluggish, especially when typing certain random characters. Very bad typing experience !!

Came from the iPhone 13 Pro Max and I hate the touch on this 16 no where near the responsiveness of my 13 pro max.

The update has not fixed my issue. I have to go back and re-tap what I was trying to hit originally multiple multiple times a day it’s super annoying.

The recent software update did not fix this for me. Interestingly the sensitivity improves if I remove the case.

It's a case Apple sold me.

This is truly unacceptable for a device that cost as much as a mid tier macbook.

So , now apple knows , now apple knows that our issue is not eaven near to be fixed

It is time that they adress us personaly , and tell us is this software issue or its a hardware issue.

anyhow , we deserve, espetiacly at this price point to have a touchscreen that actualy works

It’s gotten better since 18.0.1, but it’s still not as snappy as my 13PM (even on iOS 18). Great phone otherwise but there’s zero reason a $1200 phone should be having these issues to begin with. Perhaps we should all turn on iPhone analytics to improve this?

Yeah same, still having this issue after 18.0.1 and I am honestly so scared that it’s a hardware issue.

I mean I think it’s gotten better after the Update but yeah it still feels very off.

Can touchscreen sensitivity even be fixed with a software update?

After the new update 18.01 . I’ve been using voice text and now the voice text is lagging too and the keyboard sensitivity.. it’s still slow. Does anyone have any info of another update about? It is gonna come out or Apple knows about it that is still going on.? I swap from iPhone 13 to the new one and I wish I had kept my old phone.

iPhone 16 Pro Max. LOT of touches not registered, and a clear laggy keyboard.

I’ve directly started with 18.0.1 so I don’t know how it was before. I’m quite surprised to read that it was even worst than now.

If this is not solved in the next 10 days, I’ll return the device, which is a pain for me because I already wasted 1 day to re-organize my personal and work phones.

PS: I’ve had to edit this message two times because after reading it I realized that there were missed characters.

I changed the haptic touch to fast but definitely there is an issue still there. What I sense is that now I need strong touches, like the screen does not have sensibility. I still do not believe that this is entirely a software issue, like them prettend us to believe.

Anyone is considering to returm it back?

I’m quite dissapointed with this issue, and even more because I cannot return the used phone case, screen protector and camera protectors :-/
