iPhone 16 Pro Freezes and Restarts

My iPhone 16 Pro 256gb was fine yesterday. This morning, it has been crashing constantly. The settings app and the calendar app are the worst culprits. Calendar just freezes, you cannot drill down to the day. The settings app just turns black and then crashes. Multiple times the whole phone restarts. I tried a hard restart to see if it was a cache issue. Didn't help. I turned off the wifi and that seemed to slightly help when using other apps. One time the settings app worked and I went to see the analytics logs. Lots of crashes in there and 1 kernel panic. Also, Siri is not responding; just hangs there with no response.

I spent 3 days transferring all the apps from my iPhone 13 Pro and do NOT want to reset it again. Getting an authenticator app configured with all my accounts takes hours. This is very disappointing.

Anyone have any thoughts or proven solutions? Thank you in advance.

Everything is working perfectly after I reset my replacement phone to factory settings and set it up as a new phone rather than restoring from iCloud backup. Since everything is synced to iCloud anyways and most things work cloud-based, I really haven't had any issues or felt like I missed anything. On the contrary, my phone has been working perfectly without any issues whatsoever. Must be some sort of issue with iCloud Backups. Very happy to have found a solution to this incredibly annoying issue.

Having similar restarts, with a bunch of panic-full logs mentioning messages similar to "panic(cpu 0 caller 0xfffffff04499471c): userspace watchdog timeout: no successful checkins from SpringBoard (2 induced crashes) in 180 seconds". The hangs seem to happen random times in the day, though just before 7 pm seems to be fairly common. Looking at the logs I noticed the following:

      "turnstileInfo": [
        "thread 452495: blocked on 452623, hops: 1, priority: 47",

Thread 452623 seems to be com.SpringBoardHome.SBHIconImageCache.work appears to be what is hanging springboard, and it seems to be waiting on task 1 / com.apple.iconservices.iconservicesagent.

Looking at task 1 I see:

"name": "user\/501\/com.apple.iconservices.iconservicesagent throttled aft",

And it seems to be waiting on:

"thread 449772: semaphore port 0x336df9da4af8e855 owned by pid 1"

I then checked my logs again and noticed a huge number of iconservicesagent crash logs about including ones around 3 minutes before each of the panic full logs, but many many more, looking at those logs they appear to be sigabrt. Looking further there seems to be a message about Address size fault. One other thing I noticed is that the some of the icons in control center on my phone were blank, until I removed and readded the controls. I can normally tell when its starting to happen as it appears to get laggy when drawing buttons, responding to typing in places where it would show some sort of icon, such as maps, settings, app directory page, search, etc.

Same issues here. Returned my 16 Pro after upgrading from a 13 Pro. My first phone was unusable, might have had hardware issues. Extremely hot in the morning, alarm clock not going off, camera app would never open, multiple crashes per day, unusable in general. Apple support noticed issues after remote diagnostics, after which I got a replacement. This newer 16 Pro seems to be performing much better, but has the same kinds of issues to a less severe degree. It still crashes at least once a day, and a restart seems to temporarily fix the issues. I also restored from iCloud and have noticed that some apps don't redownload after restoring, so might be an issue with iCloud restores. My home is filled with Apple devices, so I feel really disappointed. Very unlike Apple to have a launch this bad.

Same here, on my iPhone 13 Pro. This ramdom reboot has been starting since I import some pictures taken by Samsung S23 Ultra from Nov 15th, and it keeps rebooting twice or 3 times a day. And in last weekends, it will just happen after I open the camera app and the phone app is malfunctioning as well. I did several hard reboot and now the camera and photo app seem to be working fine. But connecting this iPhone to CarPlay still cause reboot.

I went to the local Apple Store and the staff told me I could save all the data and do a wipe and start as a new phone, secondly, I could trade in. I don't feel like this can be a solution to a problem like this.

But from the replies in this thread, I found that even a new iPhone can also have the same issue if restore the data from iCloud. This is not acceptable and it will keep me away from sticking to iPhone, have been using iPhone since 2012.

The diagnostic showing dart-ave error and I've looked it up but found no final solution for this. Hope Apple can hear us and make the update ASAP. I would not trade in before the solution is provide.

I posted several weeks ago about this same problem, and about the power boot to start it again; vol. up, volume down and press an hold power button down, which worked for me the few times it happened. I was curious about this new iPhone 16 thing that tells you not to overcharge it. Ever since iPhone 4 I just leave it charging all night with no problem. I’ve star playing the new game of unplugging it for the night ( iPhone 16 seems to charge a lot faster than my Xr). I haven’t had it happen since. Just thought I’d pass it on, though I would think it shouldn’t be a problem charging it overnight. Happy to hear any comments pertaining to this.

Same exact issues... crashing and restarting by itself, was able to use a couple of apps but would crash with most of the apps, if they actually showed at all. Brought it in at the genius bar and they gave me a replacement. The new one was behaving well for about 30 minutes after the data transfers from cloud but then started crashing again after it had loaded about an eighth of the apps.

Now I can't even open settings to erase all data and start over again :(

Been without a phone for a week because of these issues. Not sure what to do anymore. It will take forever to get another appointment with the genius bar.
