iPhone 16 Pro Freezes and Restarts

My iPhone 16 Pro 256gb was fine yesterday. This morning, it has been crashing constantly. The settings app and the calendar app are the worst culprits. Calendar just freezes, you cannot drill down to the day. The settings app just turns black and then crashes. Multiple times the whole phone restarts. I tried a hard restart to see if it was a cache issue. Didn't help. I turned off the wifi and that seemed to slightly help when using other apps. One time the settings app worked and I went to see the analytics logs. Lots of crashes in there and 1 kernel panic. Also, Siri is not responding; just hangs there with no response.

I spent 3 days transferring all the apps from my iPhone 13 Pro and do NOT want to reset it again. Getting an authenticator app configured with all my accounts takes hours. This is very disappointing.

Anyone have any thoughts or proven solutions? Thank you in advance.

After 24 hours of being stable, the issues are back. No updates no apps installed. All apps are unresponsive now and cause kernel panics.

This is ridiculous on a brand new phone.

Having similar restarts, with a bunch of panic-full logs mentioning messages similar to "panic(cpu 0 caller 0xfffffff04499471c): userspace watchdog timeout: no successful checkins from SpringBoard (2 induced crashes) in 180 seconds". The hangs seem to happen random times in the day, though just before 7 pm seems to be fairly common. Looking at the logs I noticed the following:

      "turnstileInfo": [
        "thread 452495: blocked on 452623, hops: 1, priority: 47",
        "thread 452560: turnstile has unknown inheritor",

      ],
      "procname": "SpringBoard",

Thread 452623 seems to be com.SpringBoardHome.SBHIconImageCache.work appears to be what is hanging springboard, and it seems to be waiting on task 1 / com.apple.iconservices.iconservicesagent.

Looking at task 1 I see:

"name": "user\/501\/com.apple.iconservices.iconservicesagent throttled aft",

And it seems to be waiting on:

"thread 449772: semaphore port 0x336df9da4af8e855 owned by pid 1"

I then checked my logs again and noticed a huge number of iconservicesagent crash logs about including ones around 3 minutes before each of the panic full logs, but many many more, looking at those logs they appear to be sigabrt. Looking further there seems to be a message about Address size fault. One other thing I noticed is that the some of the icons in control center on my phone were blank, until I removed and readded the controls. I can normally tell when its starting to happen as it appears to get laggy when drawing buttons, responding to typing in places where it would show some sort of icon, such as maps, settings, app directory page, search, etc.

So I did a reset and deleted everything. Started up the iPhone again without loading up any of my info from my iPad or other devices. I logged onto my Apple ID and started downloading apps one at a time. I got a replacement eSIM and so far it’s been quite stable (knock on wood). I now have to rebuild my App Library from scratch… upside of this I realised how many apps I had that I never used. Been two days and so far so good. It must have been a corrupt app.

almost daily crashes to a restart after a freeze. Varies on app in operation at the time. Have been to an Apple Store yesterday and a diagnostic ran which showed no faults. Reset and restore in the Apple Store and diagnostic ran again, still no hardware faults showing.

Seemed ok but this morning I’ve had another crash. Thought it was coming as when going to search the app icons weren’t showing in the top bar which happened previously prior to crashes.

Does seem like a patch is needed.

Same exact issues. As one of the other responses states, the 16 pro is unusable. Crashes constantly. Try to update apps? Crash. Open settings? Crash. Phone calls? Group texts? Crash. Thank god I didn’t get rid of my previous phone. 16 pro has been a nightmare. Sorry this isn’t a useful response, I just needed to vent amongst people with the same issues
