iPhone 16 Pro Freezes and Restarts

My iPhone 16 Pro 256gb was fine yesterday. This morning, it has been crashing constantly. The settings app and the calendar app are the worst culprits. Calendar just freezes, you cannot drill down to the day. The settings app just turns black and then crashes. Multiple times the whole phone restarts. I tried a hard restart to see if it was a cache issue. Didn't help. I turned off the wifi and that seemed to slightly help when using other apps. One time the settings app worked and I went to see the analytics logs. Lots of crashes in there and 1 kernel panic. Also, Siri is not responding; just hangs there with no response.

I spent 3 days transferring all the apps from my iPhone 13 Pro and do NOT want to reset it again. Getting an authenticator app configured with all my accounts takes hours. This is very disappointing.

Anyone have any thoughts or proven solutions? Thank you in advance.

Everything is working perfectly after I reset my replacement phone to factory settings and set it up as a new phone rather than restoring from iCloud backup. Since everything is synced to iCloud anyways and most things work cloud-based, I really haven't had any issues or felt like I missed anything. On the contrary, my phone has been working perfectly without any issues whatsoever. Must be some sort of issue with iCloud Backups. Very happy to have found a solution to this incredibly annoying issue.

I’m jumping on the 16 Pro Max crash and freeze train. I guess I should have waited a bit 🤦‍♂️. This was probably the worst upgrade that apple has done, and I only upgraded from my 14 for the new apple intelligence, as well as the USB C port.

Apple Intelligence isn't even released software wise yet. I get the consumers pressure them into developing a new iPhone every year, but maybe its time to really put some work into these designs, and not release products that dont come in the box with all the features, let alone a product with glitches.

We but the “premium” phones for a reason, and it looks like that reason is slipping away…. Better catch it quick Apple.

I bought my iPhone 16 Pro with 1 TB of storage on September 22. After four days, it started freezing, and apps would appear and disappear. We thought it might be normal, but it kept happening every day and not just once. So, my family and I decided to go back to the place where we bought it, which was John Lewis.

We arrived, went to the counter, and told them that my phone was broken. They told us to wait in a specific area, so we went there and waited for our turn. Finally, when it was our turn, the representative asked what was wrong. I explained with my sister that it freezes, restarts, and apps disappear. He said, “Let me try something, and if it doesn’t happen again, you’re good. If it does, you’ll have to repair it.” But REPAIR IT? It’s less than two weeks old, and it’s already broken!?? He just said, “Yes, unfortunately, that’s the only option.”

In three days, I’m going back to Ukraine (home). I’ve been living in England since the war in Ukraine began. 💔 So we decided that after I return, we’ll go to an official Apple Store.

Now, I’ve been in Ukraine for two weeks, and it’s still freezing, even though he tried to fix it. I don’t know what to do—I saved up for a year to buy it because my previous phone was really broken. And I’m only 14. I earned the money by working hard, babysitting a young child, and doing manicures for people. That’s a lot of work for a 14-year-old! And now, I ended up buying another broken phone. ❤️😭😭😭

I done the restore back up, and I also had to do a full restore. I am still having problems with my 16 PM. The camera issue cleared up since apple replaced my phone. Yet everything else is not right. It seems to be a software issue. Messages are not sending phone calls being dropped even though signal is good. Emails are not coming in yet they are being delivered on my iPad etc. there’s a list of issues.

That was not the case for me... Previously I was using the iOS Beta on iPhone 13. Just a day or two prior to the release and receiving my new iPhone 16 Pro, I exited beta on the 13 thinking I could restore my phone but realized I could not because the backup was from from an older version of iOS so I had no choice but to setup as a new phone and reinstall everything from scratch on the new Pro.

Mine freezes and reboots once every couple days, at least that I know of anyway. So setting up from scratch has not worked for me.

Also, on my Mac M1 my photos are SO WHITE.. my god. Can't even read a label in the photo if I export it because it is SO WHITE. I'm not a photographer but photos are unusable if I export one. I know, unrelated to freezing iPhone.

Have been having these same issue here! Only had to phone for less than 24 hours before the issues started.

Half the time when I open my camera app once I take the picture it freezes goes to a black screen and then crashes. Now that it’s been over a week it’s crashing with other apps. I’ve also notice that when it’s in its crashing mode it’s draining the battery like crazy.

I came on here this morning to see if anyone else was having issues due to one I had this morning. My phone was fully charged and in a span of 10 minutes it dropped down to 89%.

Very frustrating for a brand new phone.

My iPhone 16 Pro with IOS 18.1 restarts 2-3 times every hour, this problem started 3 days ago and is very frustrating, every time it restarts is running slow it doesn't connect to my WiFi network and CarPlay stops working I have to shut down manually and then everything stars working normally until it restarts again by it self. I posted this everywhere I cold this is not possible.

My problem is a tad different. I usually plug it in to charge and turn it completely off when I go to bed. Then it won't turn back on. I read to quickly push the sound up button, then the down button and then hold in the power button for 15-20 seconds and it will come on. I have had to do that 2 times since Saturday when I switched it over. No problem with moving my information over...went very quickly but just having problems powering up in the mornings. Anyone else having this problem?

I can't even access my phone anymore, it's in a cycle of restarting and crashing until it runs out of battery. When I charge it it immediately starts overheating and it doesn't cool down on its own, it keeps restarting and crashing. I have it updated to the most recent update. It's totally useless. Contacted apple support 3x by chat and they looked at the diagnostics and said everything is fine. Clearly it is not. 16PM is 7 weeks old and was working without major issues like this so far.

So with all the people reporting a major problem to their phones, it seems Apple is doing nothing to try and fix it. A failed update? I bet if someone's camera didn't work after an update the company would be put on hold to fix it. I'm on my second phone because the constant freezes and restarts. The guys at TMobile have no idea how to fix this. Shouldn't this be a priority rather than what new color covers can be created? Apple please do something to help us all out. We are spending alot of money on a phone and to have it behave like this is poor service. And why not respond to any of these posts? That's no good.
