Apple Watch's Remote application no longer controls iTunes running on my Windows 11 PC after upgrading to Watch OS 11..

For years I remote controlled music playback from iTunes running on a Windows PC in my home office using the iPhone and Apple Watch "Remote" applications. After upgrading to iOS 18 and Watch OS 11, the iPhone app still works fine but the functionality appears to have been dropped from the Watch OS 11 version of the Remote app. The new Apple Watch version of the Remote app just appears to be able to control Apple TV's (a feature I never used) and can no longer see/control my Home Shared library running in iTunes on my PC.

I also was unpleasantly surprised seeing this today after upgrading. I am quite upset to be honest. Will contact support tomorrow to request the functionality restored. What kind of product is it that strips functionality with an “upgrade”?? I am an apple user for 25 years but am being pushed away.
