iPhone parts and service unable to configure after screen replacement, IOS 18

I installed an aftermarket screen on my sons iPhone 13 and it works but I'm not able to use face id (States its not availalbe) and true tone is missing (assuming its because the screen is not original). I'm on ios 18 and the system notices the screen has been replaced. I go to Settings, About, Parts & service History and it has a message about Display with an option to Restart & Finish Repair but it gives an error "unable to configure".

Is there a way to fix this? I have the original cracked display and have transferred the ear piece to the new screen. Is there something else that needs to be moved over from the original screen?

Specs: iPhone 13 running ios 18.0

So I updated the software to 18.1 and truetone is working but FaceID isn't. BTW I did the same for an iPhone 11 using an aftermarket screen and FaceID works. Wonder why one works while the other doesn't. Both had non apple screens installed.

About Face ID advanced technology - Apple Support

Face ID Security Guide (November 2017) (PDF)

"Once it confirms the presence of an attentive face, the TrueDepth camera projects and reads over 30,000 infrared dots to form a depth map of the face, along with a 2D infrared image. This data is used to create a sequence of 2D images and depth maps, which are digitally signed and sent to the Secure Enclave. To counter both digital and physical spoofs, the TrueDepth camera randomizes the sequence of 2D images and depth map captures, and projects a device-specific random pattern."

According to the paper, communication between the TrueDepth camera and the "System on Chip" processor is encrypted. Maybe if you replace the screen with a third-party one, that does something to alter the encryption key of the TrueDepth camera, keeping it from making a secure connection to the main processor.

No secure connection = No Face ID for you.

Mine did this when I got a second hand phone with a cracked screen, and replaced the screen with the one off my phone when my original phone would no longer boot up because of a motherboard problem. I first transferred the motherboard off the second hand phone so I could keep my new looking phone. Face ID worked on the old cracked screen. It’s just Apple gate keeping repairs. Make sure you have the same camera and everything else, I had to transfer everything out of the second hand phone I got. Still True Tone never worked, though now it’s suppose to configure the screen and I assume Face ID and everything else when you replace parts with original Apple parts, but it just says unable to connect to configuration server when I try configure the screen. It’s all a load of crap.
