iPhone 16 pro ‘adjust ringtone volume with side buttons’

Hi

Since I’ve had my 16 pro, the adjust ringtone volume with the side buttons hasn’t worked.

I’ve tried toggling the option on and off, I got it to work momentarily when I turned the option off, restarted the phone and then turned the option on. It worked in that moment but hasn’t worked since again.

I have also done a force restart on the phone.

When it worked, the volume adjuster bar appeared at the top of the phone like my old one, but when it doesn’t work I just get the media volume bar on the left.

iOs is up to date.

Any ideas anyone??

Had a similar problem... just got iPhone Pro 16, and ringer and alarm were extremely quiet even when ringer volume was set to max in the settings. Exact symptom is that right after I adjusted to maximum, it was loud for the first 1/2 sec, and then became very quiet. Subsequent calls or alarms were just quiet.

I ended up setting the ringer volume just below maximum, and that seems to be a work-around. I used Settings -> Sounds & Haptics and then changed the ringer volume on the slider bar. It's not optimal, but much louder than the extreme quiet volume I get otherwise.

OS on mine is 18.0... it just informed me that a new version is ready to load up... maybe this will be fixed.

Hi I actually went to the Apple Store tonight and got it fixed with this.

settings > general > transfer or reset iPhone > reset > reset all settings

go back into the sounds and haptics settings, toggle change with buttons back on and it worked from there.

very strange!!
