apple tv 4k youtube pause for only 2 minutes

I just discovered a pause issue with our apple tv 4k. While watching on youtube i paused the video show with the remote. The program started again after 2 minutes. i tested this multiple times with the same result.

i'm not having the problem with any other app's on this device or with the two other apple tv hd's we own.

I tried offloading youtube and restarting the apple tv with no effect

using youtube version is 4.41.03 and apple tv model A2169 64GB TVos 17.6.1

not sure how to troubleshoot this problem. is anyone else having this problem ?
