iPhone 16 pro can’t focus for biometric confirmation for banking apps

Man you’re genius 😄😄. I tried with magnifier and biometrics are done successfully in 2nd attempt for both hands.

1st attempt was failed because I tried in dark room and flash light was reflecting through magnifier. Then I went to balcony in day light and it was done within a seconds. Thank you so much Kashif brother.

Recently bought iPhone 16 Pro Max and when tried logging into baking Apps (Pakistani Banks), it couldn't perform any biometric as camera couldn't focus. So, I searched and read that people are using magnifying glasses to get it done. I ordered one from Daraz in only Rs.450 which arrived today and I am writing this reply after getting all of my banking apps logged in successfully. But I must say, it isn't fault of the apple, though I am very regular user of the android and got iPhone as well for the 1st time, but issue is with the developers of the app. So guys, in short. Use magnifying glass between camera and your fingers. It will be done.

Boys o Boys.... i was suffering the same on HBL from two weeks today o gone through these solutions I found that camera is not able to focus. So i tried scanning my fingers by keeping hand far from camera and then bring it closer to camera slowly & amazingly my problem solved and i got the message that scan is successful for both hands fingers. Just keep hand far a bot then bring closer to camera. HBL & 16 pro

There is not fixing from Apple. The new cameras/lenses focus at a further distance and that can’t be changed. You bank has to update their app to use the new macro lens and focus distance.

The issue is your banks work around using the Front Facing camera, rather than TrueDepth camera for Face ID. Your banks method is much less secure.

You’ll need to use a magnifying glass between the phone’s camera and your finger to help it focus that close.

You can also modify your technique. Start with your finger further away from the lens/camera and slowly bring it closer until it verifies your finger.

I had the same issue when trying to register my mobile for my banking apps (Meezan and Allied Bank) for the very first time on my iPhone 16 Pro Max.I used my mother’s glasses, and they worked just fine. If you’re facing the same problem, try using glasses or a magnifying tool to complete the registration process smoothly. Hope this helps!

Problem solved perfectly with magnifying glass. Faced same problem but using magnifying glass solved biometric verification problem in all banking apps (Alfalah, HBL, Meezan, Easypaisa).

Banking apps use the ultrawide lense for biometric verification. And because 16 pro lineup has an upgraded 48MP ultrawide lense, the verification cant continue because the apps need to be updated to support the new lens.

It will get fixed once the app developers rewrite some code. Not Apple's fault.

I have 16 Pro Max and facing this same issue. I would say wait until the app developers start updating the apps.

Same happened with me. Jazzcash issue was resolved without visiting their office. I called on their helpline and they told me to try after updating App after 24 hours. After updating, App didn’t ask me for biometric and now it’s working fine. HBL is still pending, they told me to visit branch for biometric.

Use a magnifying glass or an eyesight glasses for nearsightedness (qareeb ki nazar ki glasses). It works amazingly. 100%

Put a magnifying glass before iPhone camera and than do the in app verification. It will be done. Just did on mine iPhone 16 pro max

I used a 100mm magnifying glass and i was able to go through with the biometric verification

Who is your bank and what app? I've not been able to find any banking app that authenticates by taking a picture of a fingerprint (which to me seems to be really lousy security) so we'll need to know the details before anyone can offer much in the way of suggestions.

Same thing was happening with my iPhone 16 pro and then I went to my nearest a Allied bank branch and told them the issue they did a biometric verification on their system and asked me to try again within an hour and after 1 houur i tried again and it was working.
