Hey Apple Support - READ THESE COMMENTS ABOUT “Disclaimer”
I use Xfinity for cable and I too cannot watch “Disclaimer” but can watch all other Apple shows.
I log into a “Disclaimer” episode and here is what happens - I see the Apple logo, I see the “Before” preview, I see the legal warning for “Disclaimer”, and then BLACKNESS - but if I fast forward the content flashes by along the bottom bar but press play and BLACKNESS.
My favorite is the comment comes from person who called support and was told since they could see it on their computer it must be an issue with their TV and therefore it couldn’t be with Apple. So sorry no help for them.
Maybe it is a particular TV model or cable carrier or state? Or something else. But if APPLE SUPPORT WOULD READ THESE COMMENTS AND TALLY UP VOTES they would maybe intuit “where there is smoke there is maybe … a fire.”
I found a work around and have watched all the episodes, but now it is happening again for episode 5 and frankly I can’t be arsed to do the work around if Apple can’t be arsed to read the community and see trends.
Now everything works. Watched season 1 episodes 4 to 6 with no problems.

What finally worked for me was not accessing Disclaimer from “Continue Watching”. Access the show from the “Top Shows” list. Then, if screen is black, fast forward a little then play. You may to repeat that step a few times. It did work for me.
Hit fast forward for a second or two as soon as you get the initial black screen with the Dolby etc marks, then quickly hit play. Worked for me after a lot of stuffing around. Slow Horses had similar problem but I hadn’t found that fix then. It’s definitely an Apple bug and not our TVs.
Same exact problem here down loading episode 3 of Disclaimer. Can’t seem to connect. Works on iPhone and MacBook. New smart tv also.
Didn’t work.
Fast forwarding a few seconds did work. You may have to try a few times. Also, go to the show app not “continue watching”. When I clicked on continue watching, nothing I did worked.
Having the same problem with Disclaimer. Cannot get episodes 6 & 7. Starts up then get a black screen. Doesn’t happen with other shows so far.
Works on my iPad but not my Samsung Smart TV.
