I have HighSierra 10.13.6 on my MAC can I up grade to a newer system to download for my new HP printer?

You should be able to find your MacBook Air's model year using the About This Mac item in the Apple () menu.


If your MacBook Air is from

  • 2010 or 2011 – High Sierra is the end of the line
  • 2012 – you can upgrade as far as Catalina
  • 2013 or 2014 – you can upgrade as far as Big Sur
  • 2015 or 2017 – you can upgrade as far as Monterey


If your HP printer is AirPrint-compatible, you may be able to get it working to a certain degree even without drivers.
