Apple News Fails to Load After iOS 18.2 Installation

Apple News fails to load after iOS 18.2 install on 7 Gen iPad. Tried deleting and reinstalling news app, resetting network settings, pausing VPN, and a full reset, all without success. Any tips would be appreciated.

Same exact problem on iPad after 18.2 upgrade - mine is a paid Apple News account. Has anyone heard of a resolution to this bug?

I am experiencing this issue as well. I turned in a report to Apple as well and we’ll see if/when anything is done to fix the problem. I’m just wondering what it is with 7th generation iPads that seem to have problems with updates. A while back Apple Music was not working on my iPad after an update. I came here and many others with the 7thG iPads were having the same problem. News works fine on my iPhone. Strange this particular iPad model is so vulnerable to problems.

If you have a VPN App or profiles installed, or a security/AV/firewall App such as Norton, these may be interfering with your iPad's network stack. The resolution is usually simple; if installed, you may need to fully remove (if only temporarily) the associated Security App and/or VPN.


If this resolves your issue, the VPN and/or security App can be reinstated after the connectivity problem has been resolved.
