Apple News fails to load after iOS 18.2 install on 7 Gen iPad. Tried deleting and reinstalling news app, resetting network settings, pausing VPN, and a full reset, all without success. Any tips would be appreciated.

Same exact problem on iPad after 18.2 upgrade - mine is a paid Apple News account. Has anyone heard of a resolution to this bug?
My wife has the same issue with her 7th Gen iPad ever since upgrading to 18.2 . Come on Apple sort it out ASAP…..please :-)
Two-hundred members of the community have checked the "Me Too" box so this seems to be a widespread issue. I hope a fix comes with the next iOS update.
I am experiencing this issue as well. I turned in a report to Apple as well and we’ll see if/when anything is done to fix the problem. I’m just wondering what it is with 7th generation iPads that seem to have problems with updates. A while back Apple Music was not working on my iPad after an update. I came here and many others with the 7thG iPads were having the same problem. News works fine on my iPhone. Strange this particular iPad model is so vulnerable to problems.
Follow-up: I just noticed that the Apple Book/Audio Book Stores are also failing to load on the 7th Generation iPad. All other book features seem to be functional, but the stores are just blank screens.
Please help with this issue. I need my newsfeed. Apple News not loading. Deleted reloaded off with vpn hard boot. Nothing!

Something similar happened with Apple Music a while back and they fixed the issue in a few weeks. Hopefully they see the problem as not an isolated one affecting only a few customers but an issue that demands a quick solution. We shall see.

seems to be specific to 7 gen. I wonder how many are out in the wild. how much effort apple will put into solving. I figured we were getting to the end of our update life.
I agree - figured the same. But if I’m at EOL, Apple needs to leave my device in a working state.
I have a 7th gen iPad having same problem with Apple News after 18.2 upgrade. Had chat with apple support didn’t resolve the problem.
Contacting Apple about this for 3rd time in a week today. Latest update 18.2 caused news app to fail to download. Have done all of the above including hard reset. Mine is paid Apple news + account.
If you have a VPN App or profiles installed, or a security/AV/firewall App such as Norton, these may be interfering with your iPad's network stack. The resolution is usually simple; if installed, you may need to fully remove (if only temporarily) the associated Security App and/or VPN.
If this resolves your issue, the VPN and/or security App can be reinstated after the connectivity problem has been resolved.
