Apple watch keeps locking even with 'always on' feature activated.

while i'm wearing my watch with 'Always on' feature on my watch keep going black anyways. I found that if I de-activate wrist detection it will keep it always on but it will stop tracking sleep, and many other things.

How can I keep wrist detection on and keep the display on at all times? Also when I'm working out it keeps pausing the workout when goes black when wrist detection is on, any solution for this?

I'm on Iwatch ultra 2

Thanks!

I have no issues using Always On and Wrist Detection enabled at the same time on my Ultra 2.

Any chance there are tattoos underneath the watch?

Did you try to force restart by pressing and holding the Digital Crown and the Side button together for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again?

If this does not work, unpairing the watch would be the next step:

Having the same issue with the always on feature as well as my workouts randomly pausing, sleep tracking. I recently switched to my other wrist because I do have a tattoo. Once I switched to other wrist, the "always on" feature worked, the workouts no longer pause and the sleep tracking worked more accurately.

Recommend trying that or even just rotating the watch to the underside of wrist if tattoo does not go all the way around!

Yeah, there are tattoos but it shouldn't be an issue as it tracks everything when wrist detection is on, it just pauses the workout as the screen goes black even though 'always on' it's on... yeah I tried force restart and unpairing too.

it's just weird... if 'always on' it's on it should stay always on with or without wrist detection on. That's a software issue i think...

Thanks Ingo anyway!
