Battery drainage (10% an hour idle )

Hi,

im having some issues with my iPhone 12 on iOS 18. I’m losing on average about 10% an hour in idle. Nothing has really improved with each iOS 18 interation . Included is a battery usage graph .

things I’ve tried

  • hard reset of iPhone
  • complete reset of iPhone ( erased all data and started from fresh
  • deleting every app
  • background app refresh all off
  • location services off
  • dark mode
  • changed battery 3 times and tested battery capacity with usb tester ( also swapped it with my gfs iPhone 12 battery that lasts her 2 days just to be super sure )
  • i charged phone to 80% , turned phone off and left it off overnight to check if battery is losing charge internally by itself ( it wasn’t)
  • iPhone 12 so no apple intelligence to disable
  • putting it in airplane mode for a long period
  • iPhone in low power mode

as you see in the graph no screen time or app used in background . I bought his phone refurbished in October so definitely no warranty .

it feels like it’s either

  • iOS in some weird loop draining
  • iOS 18 just draining more
  • some hardware issue

any input would be greatly appreciated.

i forgot to put it on charge last night and woke up to a dead phone again . This is all with the iPhone in low power mode .

The measure of battery health deterioration/drainage is subjective and can vary depending on individual usage patterns. There is no universal standard to determine whether the battery health deterioration/drainage is normal or abnormal because it heavily relies on how the battery is used and maintained.
