iPhone 16 pro max external speaker issues

Also, I did play the Youtube video you linked above (https://youtu.be/gEAnre-s4-o) on the following:

1. MacBook Pro m1
2. iPad Pro M1
3. iPhone 16 Pro Max
4. Bowers & Wilkins Px8 an $800 pair of Bluetooth, Over the Ear headphones

And here is the order of how they ranked from best to worst:

1. Bowers & Wilins Px8
2. MacBook Pro M1
3. iPad Pro M1
4. iPhone 16 Pro Max

The iPhone was the least full bodied as I would completely expect. Again, it's a limitation of the size of the speakers in an iPhone. But it was acceptable, just not nearly as good as the other devices which have larger speakers, which can move more air than an iPhone speaker can.

I have already reported to Apple feedback about this after being suggested to do so. and as I stated, I already had Apple look at my device.

its clear now that it’s a software issue and that I’d have to wait for a fix.

never once said showing this issue to Apple was pointless :).

I hope you have a nice day as well. I'm really not such a bad fellow. As you can see from my post above, I actually did what you asked me to do and did listen through the speakers on my iPhone and three other devices. I do have a pretty critical and trained ear. My degree is in Music and I was a professional classical clarinetist at one point in my life.

Actually, I did do that. In our house, we have an iPhone 16 Pro and an iPhone 16 Pro Max. I played the video on both phones. They sounded the same as I would have expected on both phones. Acceptable. But sonically, not more than I would expect from small speakers on a cell phone.

Comparing the sound on a Mac, an iPad, Bluetooth Headphones and an iPhone is most definitely not pointless. It highlights the simple unalterable physics of speakers. The smaller the speaker, the less capable they will be able to reproduce the full spectrum of frequencies.

I don't have a 12 or any other model iPhone to compare with. I don't honestly pay much attention to Reddit, Quora or other social media sites. On Youtube, you can see people claiming the earth is flat, but we know it's not.

Not sure if this is the comparison you’re looking for, and if it’ll do anything to help in this discussion, but I recently (<5 months ago) switched from the iPhone 12 to the iPhone 16. And from my experience, the difference in quality and volume was very profound and amazing.

I really have no audio issues with this device. I notice other minor issues which I could do without, but listening to audio is not among them.
