iPad Calendar: Blank screen when swiping to next week

I have the calendar on my iPad set to a week by week view. Occasionally when I swipe to next week it just shows a plain white screen. If I swipe again then the following week shows ok and if I swipe back then this week shows OK. I have to go back and forth several times until eventually it decides to show next week correctly. I estimate this happens about 1 in 5 times that I use the calendar, the other times it's fine.

I am unable to replicate the issue that you describe with my iPad (an iPad Pro M1) - which may differ from your model.

Try a forced-restart of your iPad - as this will often clear an isolated software issue:

Force restart iPad (models with Face ID or with Touch ID in the top button)

If your iPad doesn’t have the Home button, do the following:

  1. Press and quickly release the volume button nearest to the top button.
  2. Press and quickly release the volume button farthest from the top button.
  3. Press and hold the top button.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the top button.

Force restart iPad (models with the Home button)

Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.

If you have encountered a consistent bug that is not cleared by the restart, you and anyone else that encounter the issue should submit a Bug Report via Apple's Product Feedback portal.  For iPad and iPadOS:

Feedback - iPad - Apple

When submitting your Bug Report, please ensure that you include details of your iPad model and installed version of iPadOS within the body-text of your report along with details of the problem. Do not rely upon the pick-list - as this rarely includes the current version of iPadOS.

Every Bug Report counts. Unless reports are submitted (with adequate detail), Apple may not assign resources to investigate and correct the issue.

In addition [i.e., not as a substitute] to submitting a Bug Report, you might also consider seeking assistance directly from Apple Support. You can contact the Support Team using the Support link at top-right or bottom-left of this page; you can initiate and manage your support cases from Apple devices using the excellent Apple Support App. If not already installed, the App can be downloaded from the App Store:

Same issue. notice also that the dates show up at the very top edge of the screen when this happens. This has been going on for weeks.

Restarting hasn’t helped.

To reiterate, if you have encountered a consistent bug that is not cleared by the restart, you and anyone else that encounter the issue should submit a Bug Report via Apple's Product Feedback portal.  For iPad and iPadOS:

I have the same problem re calendar on iPad - I am in landscape mode - swipe left and get - in my case - a black empty screen. BUT , not sure where I read this, but, provideding you’ve not locked orientation - just turn iPad from landscape to portrait and the next week fills in - turn back and everything’s okay. Not a very elegant solution, but it does work!

Same issue—m4 iPad Pro; all current updates. Been using apple products for 25 years. When I swipe to next week in landscape mode, blank calendar items. I switch to MacBook to complete calendar items. Please fix this Apple! For a professional tool that is sold a premium (especially after recent price hikes) this is sloppy coding, and a known issue clearly. It reminds me of the Microsoft Windows product from early 2000’s—I hope the culture of excellence at Apple is not fading.

I also have another issue—after paying for the non-glare screen (and getting 1tb) for this m4 iPad Pro, when I use the apple keyboard, the keyboard ring around the keyboard actually scratches the screen! It leads me to believe that many of the engineers and designers don’t seriously use nor treat carefully the product they create.

Hope they improve these easily fixable items soon.
