iPod Touch won't turn on !!

Okay I need major help! So my ear phone port in my 4g ipod touch got jammed, so my cousin & I tried to fix it my putting a sewing needle up the port. We cleaned out what was in there (which was turf from my track meet over the weekend) . But after we were done, the ipod turned off immediately, so I plugged it into my PC, & it worked . A few minutes after unplugging it , it did the same thing, but when I plugged it in, nothing worked, & it didnt turn on. Over the summer my home button broke, so I used the assetive touch , on-screen-home button thing so my home button was on the actual screen of the ipod. Now, when I hold in the power & home buttons, my home button is broken , so it doesnt work . I think maybe when he put the needle in the port, it maybe scratched a wire or something. The nearest apple store is about 2 1/2 hours from my house, so I'm trying to avoid taking it to a shop. Please reply & give me any advice ?! Thank youu !

kamelia--it may be that the turf was wet and that may be what's causing problems. Best thing I can suggest is: with your iTouch plugged in, try doing the restore from iTunes (just make sure your music/movies/apps are backed up somewhere like iCloud or your computer). Use a connector cable made by Apple also. That seems to have worked for me (so far). Good luck.

My I-pod touch 8Gig with the camera has been out of touch only over night and I've came back to use it and the screen is really, really dark and is flickering. It seems to be on but when I press the main circular button on the front or the lock button along the top nothing is seeming to be happening and the screen is blank. I've tried switching it off and on again.. it's not responding! I started to charge it.. again it wouldn't respond! I also took a tip from a post I saw about holding down the two main buttons so the apple logo would appear on screen but still nothing! if anyone is able to help me in anyway I would be highly grateful, thank you!🙂

LiMaSu i was about to do the same thing it happenes to me alot like everyday the cauz might be from dropping it everytime or the battary is dead

just hold the homescreen button first then the sleep for ten sec and it will work if not try it with the charger in it🙂 !

My Ipod Is a 8GB and is the second ipod touch out and ive tryed all the soulutions that every one is wrighting Up And None of them is working.Any One have any idead whats wrong because i am realy gonna snap if it doesnt get repaird 🙂

The easiest solution: 1)Connect it to computer

2)then hold the home+power on button for about 10 seconds

3)then itunes will open

4)Restore it

5)It will work fine:D

Mine wouldn't work at all and wouldn't respond when I charged it or connected it to a computer, all it would do was show the apple symbol. I saw this support website on Apple and it really helped, so far! 🙂

Thank you so much!! the 30seconds thing worked and lucky everything wasd backed up ! so connect your ipod ,connect to ur computer , turn on itunes and then press the home button and on button for 50 seconds and then it will send a message itunes! it will ask you to restore everything, but lucky i didn't hsve too. but thank you for the help.

you have to put it in dfu mode by holding power butten 4 secs then power and home 10 secs then home butten 15secs then restore it

I have a 8GB ipod touch (2nd genration),It won't turn on at all, I've plugged it into the computer,and pressed the home and power button and it still won't work,what do I do!!!!!!! 😕
