iPod Touch won't turn on !!

I had the same issue and I really thought that my ipod touch 4th generation would not turn on, but I held down the home and the power button and that method really does work!

my ipod wont turn on! ive tryed holding the power and home button but it still wont work!!! it doesnt even work when i plug it into my computor! its really getting on my nerves! and i need it for my school project wich is due next week!!! please help! ill do anything! i thing its the 3rd gen... my ipod touch 4th gen 64 gb wont turn on

all i get is a spining clock for 30mins then the apple logo for 30-40sec's sometimes 1min

then goes back to the spinning clock it's been like that for 5hrs now

i can't restore to back up as itunes say's the ipod is passcode and i cant get it to restore to factory setting's

i did that but then it flashes white then turns off then turns back on and then i do it again and it turns into a cycle... plus how long do i have to hold it for?

And what if my sleep/lock button is broken and I my iPod wount turn on (cant try the DFU/restore mode...)

this worked for me, but my ipod will not stay on.. it goes to a black screen and i cant do anything... any ideas?

The same happened to me when my ipod went through the washing machine. I let it dry for a week and it has worked fine ever since

My iPod (4th Gen, White, 32GB) worked fine until today. Now it barely holds any charge at all with or without Wi-Fi/Bluetooth on.

I‘m thinking of buying an AppleCare extended warranty and just get it replaced with a new one...

Any ideas on a quick fix? (Already restored it to factory settings)

I was using my iPod touch (4th Gen 32GB) and then locked it to go get a drink. However, when i returned it had completely turned off. It had half battery so it seemed odd for it to have run out. Either way, I tried charging it but it still wouldn't turn on. My internet had stopped working at the time too so I couldn't look for any ideas either...

I finally got the internet back today and found this page straight away. I tried using the advice on here of holding the home button and power button at the same time for 30 seconds. It didn't work straight away but after doing it for another 10 seconds it actually worked!! Although, it did then need to be fully charged... Anyway, this advice really does work!!! So, try it!

iv tryed that my ipod touch ( 2nd gen , 8GB) still wont turn on...

I think that it is important that it is absolutely flat when you hold down the Home button and the off button. Make sure that it is charged as mitch as possible!
