iPod Touch won't turn on !!

I have an 8 GB iPod Touch and it does not turn on, it was working and it just went off and won't turn on. I tried to connect it to iTunes but it is still the same.

Does anyone know what's wrong and how do you fix it ?

Hi, my iPod Touch 4th generation 8gb did this today, and I still can't get it to turn on. I have been reading this forum, and people are saying to hold the Lock and Home button for over 30 seconds. I have tried that, plugged into the pc and the wall, and by itself, and nothing happens. I plugged it in and still nothing happens. It died when I had a full battery to. I can't do the home and lock button because the home button is broken and doesn't work, so does anybody have an idea to how to get it working again?

Thank you so much for the dfu mode info (power butten 4 secs then power and home 10 secs then home butten 15secs then restore it), Eghegh12! My daughter's iPod is only 3 days old and I was dreading having to go to the store for help (45 minute drive...). It looks like it is working - it is at least recognized again on the computer and downloading the software. Phew... hope it works and double thumbs up for this info!

Same happened with me, except it is an 8gb. My nearly a year old Ipod was gitching and i turned it off now keep in mind that it was on full battery, it wouldn't turn back on 2hours later, i got home and plugged it into a wall charger, the charge symbol flashed, so i kept it on, for 2 weeks, nothing it wouldn't charge. WHAT DO I DO!?!?!?! I sent apple a complaint but nothing came back.
