iPod Touch won't turn on !!

mines pretty much the same! i have an ipod touch (32GB gen 2) and last night the battery went flat amd turned itself off. i put it on charge all night and now it doesnt turn on, just the apple logo comes up but it wont turn fully on.. after a while it switches itself off. i've reset it but the same happens again. i dont know if it has anything to do with it being cold or something and messing up its inner workings 😟 help please!!

Thank you soooooooo much for your help. Yes, holding down the lock and home buttons at the same time got my touch to turn on. I was totally freaking out.

Even mine wouldn't turn on, until i tried the power & home key combination. I guess its a hardware problem related to humidity and temperature. This happened after i used the itouch with sweaty hands.

Thanks for your informations. We had the same problem that the new ipod won't turn on. After pressing both the reset and home buttons together for 10 or more seconds it worked again.

The same thing happened to my ipod touch 4th genration and i havent had it a week. Your post helped me get it working agian. You think apple would do something about this.

Yes this is the best solution to the problem..I held the "Home Key" and the "Power Button" for 1 min. and the apple logo showed up.

Amazing ! Apple has a real problem here. Exactly the same thing happened to me today : the iPod just switched off and won't turn on again, even if the battery was still filled. The "Power Button"+"Home Key" trick did it ! Thank You for the help !!

lol i just had the same i have a 4g 32gb ipod touch i plugged it in to my old ihome. idk if my new ipod is compatible or not the ipod say the battery was full idk. i had felt it plugged in there all nite. but i googled the problem. what u need to do is press and hold the power and home button. this will reboot ur ipod touch and everything u downloaded on it will still be on there. lol XD i thought i was going to have to go to the apple store before i heard this.

I have the same problem.... 1 year old 64gb Ipod Touch ... it just shut off and won't turn on. i've tried charging it to no avail. i've tried all these solutions listed and nothing has worked. Does anyone have any other solutions?

Hold the home screen button and the lock button at the same time... Well theses what I did

I have an 8Gb iPod Touch 2nd Gen. Like two days ago, I was using it and it was fine, but it died to the point to where it turned itself off. I plugged it into my computer, and it powered on again to charge like normal. I left it there, came back later, and it does nothing. I have tried the Sleep plus home button thing multiple times. It will not show that it is charging, it will not show up on my computer or itunes. It won't even pull up the apple logo. The backlight for the screen wont even light up. Its like its internally dead, like there is nothing in it.

hold the home button and the stand-by button on the top at the same time until the apple symbol appears on the screen, trust me it really works!!!
