iPod Touch won't turn on !!

I have an 8 GB iPod Touch and it does not turn on, it was working and it just went off and won't turn on. I tried to connect it to iTunes but it is still the same.

Does anyone know what's wrong and how do you fix it ?

I have a 4th gen that I bought on black friday. same thing happened to me. pressed home and power for about 15 seconds. It made me restore my ipod back to factory settings. I was able to back up everything (contacts, apps, etc.) but my music was gone!

My ipod battery died the other night and now wont turn back on! Its 3rd gen 8GB. My computer doesnt recognize it and i have tried to hold the power and home button many times but it just gets stuck on the apple logo. I left it on the apple logo all night and it did nothing. My ipod is over a year old, so does no longer hae a warranty on it, and i really don't want to buy a new one! What should i do ????

Today I was at the park and I was showing my friend this video on my 4generation 8 GB iPod touch and all of a sudden the screen went black I tried turning it back on but nothing happened. There was still more than half battery left so I know it didn't die. so when I got home I plugged it in and nothing happened still. i even tried holding the home and power button at the same time but nothing happened at all. Any other things I can try? I have no clue what to do. I've only had my iPod for 3 months.

this is probably the best solution, hold the "sleep/home button" and the "power button" together for 10 seconds i guarantee it would work.it worked for my ipod touch 4g

I need help. My iPod Touch 4g won't turn on and I even tried holding the home and lock buttons together for a number of seconds. THAT DOESN'T WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!

this happened to my ipod touch 4th gen, just 20 minutes ago and i only received it this morning in the mail.
what i did was held the power button for around 30 seconds and that failed so i tried the home button.
also failed.
but i did it with both pressed down at the same time for around 40 seconds and hey presto, it turned on fully restored 🙂

My 32gb ipod touch is doing the same thing i was playing a game then i went to the home screen and made it sleep but now its not turning on and i keep trying to charge it but its not showing that its charging

I have an ipod touch 4th generation. it is about a month and a half old and i went to turn it on and it would not start. it won't start when i plug it into my laptop but it will work when i plug it into an outlet. it won't work unless it is plugged into an outlet at all times. if i unplug the usb cord it automatically goes dead. i've tried the power button and the home button thing but it doesn't work and itunes doesn't recognize it either!!

okay, either hold the home and lock button for 7 seconds

or plug your ipod into the computer, then bring up itunes, Then click restore.

This worked for me too, I thought it a little strange when I was just reading a book on my kindle app and it just cuts off when it had over half of battery life left. I tried plugging it in and holding the power button for a while, but if you hold both down it turned on for me.
