I don't think that there will ever be a delete option to unused apps. That's the way apple found to make you buy "more space". Sorry that's why apple is what it is today. iCloud is a great idea, a neat concept but both my backups alone occupiy most of my iCloud free space thus forcing me to get more space to safeguard my "e-mobile-life". Dance the iMusic folks!

You know you can just swipe to delete them, right? In the purchases section of the App Store app you can just swipe your finger from right to left across the name of the app that you don't want to see. A red "hide" button then appears and when you click it the app will no longer appear in the list. I use it to get rid of any past junk Or free app that I never plan on downloading to my phone again. Hope this helps.

This is a case when an ounce of prevention is worth a ton of cure. I disabled autobackups when a set up my iPad - not quite soon- enough so have a few annoying apps - but now only backup what I want, or at least I think that's what's happening. I know this isn't any help with the apps crawling around already, but may stop future infestation.
