Hard Core apple users remind me of far right wing or left wing political people they just can not believe they could be wrong. Do not get me wrong I am just as bad and like apple products, I have an Ipad and I have an Iphone as does my wife and I love them all but the lack of flash player has really pushed me away from apple products as a whole. The simplest things like participating in a fantasy football draft I keep finding myself having to put down the Ipad and go get out the PC. My wife had always wanted an over priced mac book and I am glad we learned our leason with the I pad because we will never get one now.
Let's see. The iPad does not support fantasy football so your wife won't get a MacBook (which does support it). I don't understand the logic here.

flash is my first disappointment after i bought my ipad2. i should have bought galaxy tab instead. android is great OS. i think we ipad users are doomed due to personal issues between apple and adobe execs.
what a shame that such issues were reflected on the ipad in the expense of the public. personally my appreciation of the ipad diminished by the time i owned and toyed with it.
my pc is still the king in my arsenal. though my ipad is only a gadget, i consider it still a king haha... on the "para-lympics".
thanks steve stepped down, maybe the next junkie would add flash compatibility for the ipad. i wish.
There's no doubt that it's an Apple-Adobe pizzing contest and I personally would be happier if the iPad did support Flash. However, it doesn't and, since it does have other redeeming qualities, I'm keeping mine. If Flash is your sole or primary interest, you'd be best advised to sell it.
"Is youtube.com out of the question?"
No, it works fine. The iPad comes with a pre-installed YouTube app to view all the videos on YouTube, which were converted to h.264, not embedded into Flash.
Another pointless and non informative comment which is also full of lies. At least Chris CA was kind enough to respond thanks dude it's much appreciated. I think you misunderstood my ignorance for sarcasm even though others have had the same problem (like the guy on page 2-3 who bought an ipad without knowing the flash limits).
I might reconcider my HP touchpad purchase as many people say flash is a problem only 1% of the time.
But if that 1% was youtube, that would have been a problem see.
Yeah I do find that it was a little inconvenient at times while surfing on my iPad to sites like NYT and some videos couldn't be played because of flash. But I enjoyed my iPad a lot cause I can still watch YouTube in an amazing display and the thickness was just right and weight for me to do MOST of the things I want. Eventually I believe apple in not supporting flash. Sme videos that supports HTML 5 work amazing and I hope more people will use it.
HP touchpad is recollecting back all its tablet device and other devices that run flash typically drains battery life. We buy iPads because no one else can meet this price range, with hundreds thousands of apps, with long battery life, screen size, and keeps ur security in mind. If flash makes mobile devices unstable then I'm gonna chuck it.
I think if u give up on a Mac because of ignorance that Macs doesn't supports flash, it will be such a pity... I've been using windows a long time and I'm so gonna switch to a Mac because I see the awesomeness and apple's dedication to details and user experience in it's iPad and last time iPod.
I like to sit out on the verandah with my better half and discuss the meaning of life over a beer ... or two ... or three. Well slight exaggeration perhaps, but we do discuss renovation ideas and the new car we plan on buying in January for my mid-life crisis (take that to mean 40th birthday). Upon coming up with a bright idea, in the past we had to drag out the laptop (sorry, it's a Toshiba, not Apple) which was always a pain in the rear as you had to wait for it to start up and it takes up so much space (the coffee table is far better served holding my beer and nibbly things). That was until we bought an iPad last year. I love it, but seriously, the Flash limitation when browsing is just frustrating. So frustrating we went out and bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab as well.
We both prefer the iPad ... bigger screen, lighter and all round easier to use ... but have you ever tried to look at a car manufacturers website using an iPad? 90% of them use Flash.
I know I'm going to get directed to the open letter from Steve Jobs. I've already read it and discounted it. Flash operating successfully on Android devices shows it to be little more than a baseless rant. So why can't we have Flash on iOS devices? The real people this ******* contest between Apple and Adobe is hurting are the consumers. I know I'm going to be told to get an Android device and sell the iPad if I'm not happy. Thing is, as I said before, we did and we prefer the iPad, and if Apple taking Samsung to court for patent violation for a concept they didn't even come up with (take a look at the tablet computers in Stanley Kubrick's 1969 movie 2001: A Space Odyssey) is successful there won't be any alternative tablet products.
I just hope that now Steve Jobs has retired, Apple will stop crippling its otherwise wonderful product and provide Flash support with the release of iOS5.

Get sky fire web browser:
Thanks for that. The first site I checked with it (http://www.volkswagen.com.au) sorta works but not really. I also took a look at http://www.citroen.co.uk and still can't drool over the DS4 (probably good for the health of the iPad). I have to use the UK site for that car as the Australian release isn't for a few months. peugeot.com.au and saab.com.au are both dead ducks, subaru.com.au does work though.
I think it's safe to say that Skyfire doesn't really work.
"So why can't we have Flash on iOS devices?"
Two reasons.
1- Apple doesn't want it (but it's kind of irrelevant),
2- More importantly, after 4years of trying to make Flash for iOS, Adobe could not do it.

Sorry Chris, but this the the only reason

Adobe can and would if they were allowed. The fact you can now use apps created using FlashBuilder bears this out. It's only browser support at this time that is limited. I just spent 10 mins googling to try and find any evidence to support what you had to say here but unfortunately came up empty.
hi phillyphan. lets say hypothetically u work for apple and u are reading that enthusiastic customers were a bit unhappy about the ipad because of the flash fiasco, i bet steve will fire u for advising to resell. (hypo since i believe people at apple are intelligent). if u read between the lines, im saying people would be happier if ipad can play flash.
ipad cant be king forever. when the next big thing hits the market, you dont have to tell me to junk my 64gb ipad2!
apple cant stay arrogant forever. when the time comes, hopefully this so-called support community would still be here for whatever it is worth.

Your hypothetical thinking doesn't mean diddly. The reality is that the iPad doesn't support Flash. If Flash is a priority for you, then the iPad is not the product for you.
i dont understand the apple hatred of flash. or fear of flash.
should ios support flash, then it would be great. my ipad2 would be more wonderful!
p.s. dont tell me to sell my ipad as a reply. thanks.
Apple laptops have Flash, but then they have more headroom to deal with the clunkers
