Also, you were given a fix in another thread but never seemed to get around to trying it because, as you sid, you had been too busy playing your PS3. So either care about the help others try to give you, or stop whinginging and put up with your problem.

Thank You

???......what do you care about if i dont do the things that people tell me to do, the second the post....?...is not a life threatning problem, so all in good time.

And to your information then i HAVE done the PRAM reset.......! So why dont you stop being such an Apple fan boy that dont want to hear anything bad about Apple and its products.....!

See, this is your problem. Not only am I not a 'fanboy' (dipstick word of the year) but I don't care too much that you came here posting a query and then failed to follow advice until about the third time you were told what to do. It may not have worked, but your apathy towards the poster trying to help was an insult. And only one other poster had a similar problem. If you don't take advice seriously, don't post here in 'desperation'. Fanboy - Apple's Vista - Exact same problem - gets pretty trepetative and unoriginal after a while. Post positive, get positive feedback. Simple courtousy.

But as it seems that you think it is only on my MBP that this problem accurs, then here is a link to one of the threads where people have the same problem.

Good Lord! One more. Almost 8 million downloads of Lion and there are 2 having this issue? Time for a Senate Enquiry!!!

Cheers

Like the way you are able to twist the conversation to being about me and what i did and dident do, insted of the problem....wierd...!

But when you are saying that im insulting the user that tryes to help me, by not doing what is told to me, right away. Then i must say that you got ALL WRONG. Because am i not allowed to ressearce the pram abit before i do it, am i not permittede to have a life beound the Apple forum. Even if this meens that it takes a bit longer...?

If it was me i couldent care less if the person was lazy and slow to do the things that i was telling the person to do.....it is completly up to this person, not me.....!

But we will prob. never agree. So im gonna stop this convesation now. Plus i already have gotten my point across. ;0)

There is only one kind of software that has no bugs - software that no one uses.

There are plenty of bugs in Lion, just as there are plenty of bugs in Snow Leopard.

Some people do not like the new Lion features such as Autosave and Versions. Those people are free to continue to use Snow Leopard or install a free and open source operating system such as Linux to give them full control over the system. I haven't seen many of the Lion-bashers go that route. In their quest to have "full control" over their own system, they want to start with control over other people's systems by demanding that Apple remove those new Lion features from everyone's systems so that Lion is exactly like Snow Leopard.

benwaffle, (cool name btw)

Here is my take on it...coming progressively & sequentially from every single incarnation of OS X to date, and, may I add, being quite pleased with all of them...until now:

Lion IS NOT for professional use. This OS (except for iCloud) is a step backwards for any serious or professionally used machine. Lion is an OS for 'tweens (think demographic obsessed with things like Twilight and Justin Bieber), teens, and soccer mom types who want to see gobs of drop shadows, bevels, bright colors, pretty icons, etc. on their computers. Basically, is it cute or not. In addition to anything that will get them on Facebook, Twitter, on-line recreation, along with a new place to store all their music files.

Lion is essentially the closest thing to iOS you could do and in many ways makes your computer like an iPhone or iPad. It is purely Apple's attempt to sale computers to potential first-time Mac buyers who have had the iPhone or iPad and want that in a computer. I assume Apple thinks it goes something like this...

13 year old girl and her mom both have iPhones and love them to death. They think, "Hey! If these iPhones are so amazing I wonder what Mac computers are like...they most be even more amazing!!!" They then go to an Apple store, find a laptop or desktop and stare at it blankly. They think to themselves "Um, like, OMG. Where are all the icons? This isn't this like my iPhone. Ugh, total whatevs, I'm just gonna get of those new red or bright green Dells." ad nauseum.

Using Lion is like walking through molasses, and no, I've never actually walked through molasses but you get my point. I mean the irony and stupidity of Launch Pad alone pretty much sums up Lion. "Hey let's put an application in the Dock (which is made to launch apps) that'll launch apps!" Yeah, Launch Pad is not a big deal, just don't use it right? But it's the point that it even exists that troubles me.

Lion is nothing more than Mac 101 for first-time Mac users. I feel like I'm working in an OS for kids or really slow people.

In summary, if your using, i mean truly using your computer as a tool, stick with Snow Leopard. If your computer is used for recreation, then go Lion.

With all respect to any opinion, I would yet note that switching to another operating system, after years of using one else, is not so easy, therefore saying ‘if you dislike Lion, stay with SL or put Linux or Windows on your machine’ does not prove a serious analysis of the complexity. People like / love Mac OS X, just they find Lion quite buggy or/and dislike many aspects of it.

It is obviously impossible to satisfy all users and all needs of most users, but Apple should consider, at least consider, these negative views.

Very well elucidated, and precisely the reason that I have decided to migrate our corporate network to Ubuntu. We simply can not afford the inefficiencies and compromises inherent in Lion. If we do not perform for our customers we both lose and, although it will entail a one time cost in hardware and training, it is necessary if we are to remain a viable, profit-making entity employing over 120 people who have families to feed and mortgages to pay. As with all negative comments there will undoubtably be a response by the fan boys and girls but this unfortunately has become an Apple tactic over the years, as a substitute for actually recognizing and dealing with product issues, another validation of decision.

Most people are calling for the option to turn things off - like autosave and versions for example - they're not denying their use to other people.

Also, many of us who are wholly unimpressed with Lion (for whatever reason, whether its performance problems or usability dislikes) are running both Snow Leopard and Lion on another disk. That means we're able to compare the two over time and see if things are getting better. The fact that even after 4 months, I'm still seeing no improvement in the system's basic usability means I'll continue to recommend that anyone who has a 'flawlessly' running mac which they need for professional use either not to update yet, or to update while keeping their current Snow Leopard install running on a clone.

That's common sense, but just shouting — 'go for it, it's great' — is just reckless advice given the number of people who've found themselves in serious difficulty after blindly doing so.
