Will siri work on the iphone 4?

It is not for the iPhone 4 nor on the 3Gs..

Indeed it uses very little power..

Theoretical it could be made on iPhone 4 but you have to hack it, so DO NOT.

As I said non of the processing is done on the phone, I think Apple will make it available for the iPhone 4 once its out of beta and they have sold enough 4S's, Its simply a selling point for the new phone at the moment.

People have been using Siri for months, then Apple buy it and disable it, What if Apple bought Facebook next year and then said sorry you can only go on Facebook with the iPhone 5??? They wouldnt do it, Im sure Siri will appear on the iPhone 4 once they hype of the new phone settles down

I have the Iphone 4. I also downloaded the IOS 5 and I can't find SIRI in the settings. HELP!

Yeah I agree! 🙂 We just have to wait a little while till Siri is out of Betaphase.

What I don't understand is why did they give it to us for the iPhone 4 and then take it away. I downloaded it from the app store months ago. It doesn't even show in my purchases anymore but I have it. Useless now though at least for the time being. 😟 Yeh...it's can't be processed on the phone or it would still work for me. I hope your right David. This irritates me. I'm holding for the iPhone 5. I just don't want to upgrade yet because there is not enough on the new 4S for me to go there.

It was a app to download before the 4S was announced. Now you have to get the 4S to have the Siri app.

It is not the same. Siri in 4s is partly in the firmware now and is "better" than the earlier Siri. Apple bought the company a few months ago. It is "enhanced" to make the 4s almost a whole new generation.

Personally I don't believe that this version will come "back" to the 4, but no one outside Apple will know...

Yeh, I know...just ***** that the first version was taken from us. It just would of been nice to be able to use til we upgrade ya know? I'm still holding I think until the iPhone 5. Will be interesting to see how it works though on the new phones. I bet it's way better now.

even if it is "gone" from the app store, you can still use it: it still is in your iTunes app library.

The problem is it has to connect to their server and it doesn't connect anymore....so it won't work.

Apple says that siri need Apple A5 , but the iPad 2 have the A5 too , and siri is not on the iPad , Why ?
The iPhone 4S and the iPad 2 have the same processor A5 !

i agree , the probleme is due to the connection to the server of apple for siri , otherwise it will works on the iphone 4the developement is good , all works , just the server block all , but it's possible to activate siri on iPhone 4 and iPad

Just a matter of time before something else similar comes out now , there is Vlingo and Voice Actions that are very similar but less develloped . Now that Siri is out it is just a matter of time before someone make something even better ... Dont buy the 4S just for Siri . Pretty sad that a company like Apple who's having more ''fans'' than customers puts everything into new device when it could be into old one's just to make more money .

And Siri was first made by SRI and was originally designed to work on the Iphone4 , apple bought it and made it for the 4s only ...

It is NOT "only the server connection": there is something in the hardware of the 4S too as I said before, not the A5, but another chip.
