My iPhone 5 connects to wifi networks and remembers them, but receives absolutely zero data through the network. LTE and 3G no problem... Off to the repair shop (after 3 hours of ownership...) or any ideas??

Ha yeah so true. I made a couple of calls and was shocked to see the battery was down to 54% when my old IP4S would go most of the day before it got so low.
Lol yup. Personally I couldn't care if it had Smurfs doing jumping Jacks, I'd be happy with a phone that works as advertised.

Thanks driveline, i'll test it using 3G when i set up my device...
not sure what u mean by setup via 3g or wifi?
cause the one that restore my iphone was apple center, and at apple center it connect fine and speed was fine

After set up just go to settings menu
And click wifi and your wifi password
If its set up that way etc or you may not
Need a password if your wifi is set up
In your house that way etc!
And after that could you use your old backup to get all your contact and apps? Or just put new contact and manually use itunes to get the app?
Is wifi working now though?
My contacts appeared even that way so
Check yours as they may appear.
You switch off phone and on again and see
If contacts are there etc.
still downloading the software from itunes to restore it. takes ages
