iPhone 5 wifi issues
My iPhone 5 connects to wifi networks and remembers them, but receives absolutely zero data through the network. LTE and 3G no problem... Off to the repair shop (after 3 hours of ownership...) or any ideas??

Ya know I've noticed this not only in the 5, but my 3rd gen iPad. This only after updating to iOS 6.
My be attributed to the iOS 6 version.
Not sure how you are doing it
But if you choose setup as NEW PHONE
Then there is no restore .
See how you do anyway.
X3ntor ,
As long as you got it going that's the main thing!
I tried a few things but in the end the two steps
Work ok so far!
(1) setup with 3G and not wifi
(2) setup as NEW PHONE only
CHeers!
Try to renew the lease on wifi-settings through the wizard, or reset the network settings.
I think Apple have solved the problem, it's because of the "Captive Portal" I think..

that would defo be the best solution if my local apple store wasn't pretty dang far away from me... on the phone to support to see what can be done?
THANK YOU

the netgear WGT624v3 fix worked... three days of going crazy trying to connect to my router... i was JUST on my way out to buy a new router.....
THANK YOU
I stand corrected...In the IP address screen [DHCP] the DNS and Search Domains fields do populate.
I posted a quick solution/check earlier.
Try turning off your iCloud back under settings / iCloud. This worked for me and it has been 12hours and had no issues.
I meant turning off the iCloud back up option.
batch ... same issue here... shud also try replacing my device.... which store did yo visit?
Unfortunately, you'll probably have to restore your iPhone. Upon restoring it, if it still has issues, take it in.
Thanks so much!!! Simple to do and it worked!!!! 🙂
Just to ask, did u just casually walk in and exchange the handset or did you have to make a genius appointment??
I made an appointment just to make sure I wouldn't have to wait around for a while to get helped.
Switching my home-wifi from WPA2 to WPA work's for me as a workaround, too...thank you!
