c'ant open or reinstall i tunes is there a fix for this
Thank you! This link to info was perfect. I followed the directions and uninstalled all apple items as listed, then restarted, reinstalled and all was well. It took about 20 minutes tops to do everything.
Thank you so much Flinneybee!
I'm so glad I came across your help.
It took me about 40 minutes to uninstall/re-install, but I'm not very good with computers.
I'm now happy to report that everything is working.
Thank you for your post!
Thanks Flinneybee, worked fine on a Win7 machine, still trying to get it right on a PC running XP. Already tried 4 o 5 times, last time even "repaired" the registry with CCleaner, same result:
"iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 127)".
1.- Unistalled everything Apple.
2.- Didn't find any of the mentioned folders.
3.- Reboot.
4.- Repaired the .NET files.
5.- Reboot.
6.- Installed in this order QuickTime.msi, AppleApplicationSupport.msi, iTunes.msi.
7.- Still getting Error 7.
Am I missing something?
Is it impossible under XP?
Everything Flinneybee suggested worked but when I attempted to uninstall the iTunes program (and the rest following Flinneybee's order of those programs) I kept getting a message that I didn't have the administrative authority to uninstall the program. I searched the UAC feature under my Control Panel folder in order to stop all administrative authorizations for adding and removing programs. This made the uninstalls pretty quick and I was able to reinstall iTunes immediately. My iTunes is back and I have lost none of my library. Thank you, Flinneybee!
OMG YOU ARE WONDERFUL FLINNEYBEE. thank you soooo much, it worked after finally googling instructions I found this, what a life saver. The only thing is though be very careful downloading a registry fix, it downloaded lots of other things with it that i had to delete. However I did everything else you said, deleted all apple inc things in my control panel, etc restarted and then re installed itunes and everything is back and working like new. Thanks again, i was struggling with this for about an hour prior to finding this! It so nice when strangers help strangers. Hope lots of other see this and it also helps them! 🙂
Flinneybee - big thank you as I printed your suggestion - followed it to the letter and now have a working itunes!
This old lady was getting po'd and you certainly kept me from hurling my computer off the deck.

Many thanks to Flinneybee! I've been frustrated trying to solve this problem on my computer for the past week and not being able to access or use iTunes on my Windows 7 computer. I was not able to find the Windows System32 QuickTime files to delete on my computer, but I followed the other steps and the worked. I did not have to repair my registry. Your solution did the trick. Much appreciated!
I've been trying to follow you process, Flinnybee, but it absolutely refuses to uninstall Apple Mobile Device support. It gets most of the way through the process and then reverses itself and seems to reinstall?
@Draughts_man , i had exactly the same problem regarding uninstalling apple device support . i tried to several times but in vain . at the nth time , i just gave up and just went ahead to installing Quick time then itunes(as Flynneybee suggested) . luckily , it went smoothly and i was able to reinstall everything .
After many uninstalls and reinstalls I figured out that iTunes installed 32 bit and 64 bit for iTunes. I uninstalled just the 32 bit because my computer is 64 bit and then restarted my computer. Sometimes it takes two restarts. It is now working.

What happens when you try to reinstall iTunes? Do you get an error message? If so, what does the error message say? (Precise text, please.)

Have you tried a complete tear down and rebuild as shown in the second box of Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates?
