Hi all. Just spent an hour un the apple store where we bought the composite AV cable and they had no solution. Key with the cable as you know is its not video its RGB so quality is good. They tried cable and of course it didnt work. They offered a video out (yellow) and stereo cable which is not the same and said ring 1-800-myapple and ask them ! So even though its a genuine apple cable ios7 appears to have messed it up. So we will call apple but really not holding out much hope for a resolution seems no solution yet !

someone here has the solution - worked for me

Getting Your Old Netflix4.3 App with all it’s features such as Apple Composite AV out, for older TV’s Back on Your iOS Device

After Installing iOS7 Netflix will prompt you to upgrade to version 4.3.1, however after upgrading, some of your old features like being able to connect your iOS Device to an old fashion TV’s Composite Video IN will no longer work

To restore your device back to version 4.3 or earlier, any version up to, September 29/2013, you will need to use your Apple Time Machine backup or any other method such as getting a copy from a Mac that as not updated to the newer version, so you want to locate and make a copy of version Netflix 4.3.ipa.

The file you are looking for is Netflix 4.3.ipa this is the preinstalled Netflix iOS application that sits in your Music/iTunes/Mobile Applications folder on your Macintosh drive.

If you look in this folder you will find a copy of the updated Netflix 4.3.1.ipa with an October 2013 date or later, this is the culprit new Netflix App, you will be replacing, so use Time Machine, or any other backup system you may be using, and go back to Version 4.3 by copying the older version 4.3 from backup, and replacing the new version 4.3.1 with it.

Prior to doing this connect your iOS device to iTunes directly using USB, and remove Netflix, after this follow the above instructions, then reconnect your device, and reinstall Netflix, the old version will be restored, along with all of it’s loved features.

The post is about TV out via Apple AV Composite cable and iOS7. This is not specific to Netflix.. I think you are misleading other users with your comments about things being fixed.

Perhaps you can post a video/picture of you running iOS7 on a pre-lightning connecter iPhone or iPad with the Apple AV Composite Cable connected and outputting video to a tv 😉

I have not yet seen any official response to the question: "Is the Apple AV Composite cable fully supported with 30pin connector devices upgraded with iOS7 - specifically ? - eg. iPad 2, iPhone 4, iPhone 4s"

If it is not currently supported is that then due to a bug / oversight and in that case is it something that will be fixed in the near future? Or is it intended to break the functionallity of the analouge TV out function when upgrading to iOS7.

I also have an Iphone 4s, updated to IOS 7 the other day and can no longer play videos on computer or via the cable from phone to TV - and the film was purchased from ITunes. Waiting for a response from ITunes.

It worked fine last weekend when I had the previous version on, I don't use Netflix and I have the old pin cable which I know is still ok.

TV only plays the sound and comes up with something along the lines of playing in a different format...... I can't even play my own recordings either.

Really disappointed in Apple, I have always loved my Iphone and was considering buying a couple of Ipads for the family this christmas based on our love of Apple. This stopped this weekend and am now looking at alternatives.

I don't think we'll ever get an answer from Apple. Too bad, they were such a reputable company & I have spent hundreds of dollars on iTunes.

So for my dedication to Apple: $600.00 phone, $500.00 iPad, $100.00 Apple TV, iPod touch, iPod photo, iPod shuffle, my $50.00 Comsposite cables are going to restrict my video output on my iPhone 4S.

Turns out movies work if you open the Videos app.

This doesn't help me with my hundreds of music videos I have purchased through iTunes and cannot create a playlist and set on shuffle in my van for my daughter to watch during our long trips on weekends.

Used to be able to.

I also spent $1200.00 in car audio upgrades to get this to work as well.

All for nothing.

Well, I guess I did end up with an inferior software version that slows my iPhone 4S down to freezing a few times a day. And a terrible white background on everything. I made a custom dashboard mount for both of my vehicles and now at night, the white background is really a hazzard issue. Lights up the entire front of the van. even before the update, the light would not go into dim mode sometimes while listening to music. Really didn't bother me except for battery drain.

Now, I could go into setting & change it everytime i enter or exit my vehchle, but i feel i should'nt have to do so.

Shame on you Apple, for not answering your customrers who stood by for years and spent alot of hard earned money to stay true to the Apple brand.

I could easily walk out of a store today with an Android phone, but then my files I paid Apple for are useless.

Shame....

Trying to revive this thread. I wrote a letter to Tim Cook about this and had an Apple executive call me, from which I was told

the problem would be fixed sometime in the next year via an IOS update. I was very skeptical at the time with such a vague time frame

and I was right--to this day they never fixed it. For me , it was a way to record video content to DVD from my IPad 2, which I still have- hoping a miracle fix will someday occur. Anyone else told of a promised fix by Apple?
