iPhone 6 "Restoring from iCloud Backup" forever

Hi folks,

My iPhone 6 spent many hours retrieving my apps when I first set it up; in fact the next morning I had to coax it along by tapping on a few of the not-yet-downloaded apps in order to get them to fully download. But I think they're all here now, and all my data seems to have arrived as well. (This was all via WiFi, not through a cable to iTunes.)

BUT

The iPhone continues to say "Restoring from iCloud Backup." It's been two days so far. This morning I plugged the phone into and used iTunes to trigger an iCloud backup. (No backups had occurred with this phone yet, and I feared they never would be since the phone thinks it's in restore mode.)

Even after my backup was complete, the phone STILL says "Restoring from iCloud Backup."

Help?

This fixed it!!! I had to undo a few additional things:

I went under settings and looked at all the programs that were backing up to iCloud and unchecked all the ones i never used:

-Keynote

-Pages

-Numbers

-Game Center

-Garageband

-any other app that was an apple default App

I opened each of the apps, and then made sure to deselect the backup to icloud. As soon as I did this, my phone completed the iCloud restore that had been going on for three weeks!

I recently lost an iPhone 5 with iOS9.02 and needed to restor to a new iPhone 6. My laptop direct backup was about a month old and I wanted to retain recent data so restored from iCloud. It took forever! After I noticed WhatsApp had been restored I noticed photos and music were downloading slowly. Other apps not appearig to download. I hooked up to iTunes, still restroing from iCloud and the process continued but now ant increase speed! It didn't take too long for all Apps, data, photos and music to be restored. Hope that may help someone

Guys, how 'bout a rabbitts foot? Maybe a Shaman?

This IS ridiculous! Does Apple Corporate Ever respond. Do u think they understand that all these issues and all the indicated lack of clarity are their, self created, problem.

makes u want to Never Upgrade!

or finally (even with all attendant difficulty) switch brands.

inexcusable to get nothing concrete back from Apple!

Just to be clear, THIS is what worked for me, and was so easy.

I Had the same problem. I went to iCloud, moved down to Backup stopped Restore & then went back to Software Update & tapped Install & it happened smoothly. Have lost nothing.

"Settings --> iCloud --> Backup and then selecting "Stop restoring iPhone."

I need to know how do you get into the phone when your phone is busy restoring from iCloud. I mean after I press the home button, the unlock screen appears, and after unlocking it, the next screen displays: Restore from iCloud, with the status bar below and the indication: Time remaining: About 3 hours.

I don't understand how one can access Settings from here, please explain to me.

Thanks a lot

My iPhone 5 no longer worked and I paid full price for an iPhone 6splus. My iPhone is still restoring from the iCloud as of three days later. I am missing photos and I don't know what else. The iCloud is the only place with a back up, and I do not have the old phone (magic*poof* it's now a brick!) to restore via cable/computer/iTunes. How can I get my pictures back and finish the restore so I can back up this phone (just in case anything happens again.) (Honestly, the way things are going, I feel like Dresden and any electronics I touch go kerflooey. LOL) Any helpful advice will be much appreciated.

I am in this very big boat. My upgrade was iphone 4S to iphone 6 via icloud and stuck restoring after 3 days. I also have this problem where you can't access anything other than the restore screen so can't figure out how others can check the status of what's been downloaded to new phone and what's missing. I guess it's just a council of despair and hoping the problem will go away from Apple.

I posted with this same issue. I found a solution that worked for me. First, the initial restore was somehow corrupted, so I started the process over again. This time all my photos and applications (except one) came through. I deleted and reinstalled the one that didn't make it over and said "Waiting" no matter what. Then, any applications that had a "1" in the upper right had corner, I updated. But the real solution, for me, anyway, was to go into my phone's contacts Verizon usually asks if you want to sync contacts, and there is usually a "1" in the upper right corner of this application. This time there wasn't, but I decided to check anyway. Once I clicked on this application, it asked if I wanted to sync contacts. I replied Yes. I don't know if phones through other providers have a similar application on the phone, but if they do, it might be worth a try. Once the sync was completed, within approximately 30 seconds, the Restore was completed. I then initiated a backup to the cloud which took less than one hour. That also completed. None of this was through the computer, it was all on wifi via the cloud. Then I was able to get the bluetooth in my car to work with my phone. I am now satisfied.
