iPad Air 2 WiFi Issues

I'm having WiFi connectivity issues on my new iPad Air 2 (WiFi only). I'm having to turn WiFi off and on to reset my connection. Restarting and restoring hasn't fixed the issue.

I'M having the same problem here with a 128gb Air 2. I've tried all the troubleshooting, without success. I spent the better part of today with a senior Apple support advisor, removing and restoring the complete software system. The advisor believed there was a corruption in the backup causing interference with the signal. After all that, the connectivity problems persists. At this point, I have been instructed to return this brand new device for repairs.

If this is a known problem, Apple certainly seems not to recognize it.

I am experiencing excactly the same issues with my EA4500 at home that currently broadcasts 2.4ghz and 5ghz networks. This is my current setup on all three devices that are running iOS 8.1 :

Iphone 6 Plus - Intermittent wifi dropouts (wifi sign is active with full coverage but no activity) Wifi switch toggle on/off to resolve. Issue only occurs maybe twice a day.

Iphone 5S - Intermittent wifi dropouts (wifi sign is active with full coverage but no activity) Wifi switch toggle on/off to resolve. Issue only occurs around once every few days

ipad Air 2 - Constant Wifi dropouts (wifi sign is active with full coverage but no activity) Wifi switch toggle on/off to resolve. Issue occurs everytime the device in sleep mode for more than 20 mins. It has become very annoying and If it is a software issue for the other devices why is the Air 2 dropping it so many times compared to the others.

Really bizare!

EXACT same problems, EXACT same router. I thought the issues with phones were just my house I would always switch networks until it finally worked. iPad issue is the same too. Always when I put it to sleep. I'm going to try swapping the router with my office one and see what happens. Have a feeling this issue is with Linksys. Or at least a combination of the two.

It seems like a lot of people are making changes to their routers to try to address this issue. I can't understand why we should have to change something that was working before and it most cases seems to be working for our devices just because we bought an ipad air 2 that is having a problem. I have an ipad mini with retina display, a kindle fire HDX, an iPhone 5s, and 3 laptops; none of which are having a problem connecting to my router. Apple needs to fix this issue

.

How do we escalate the issue at Apple ?

what we know so far ...

- data doesn't work after iPad air 2 goes to sleep mode during ~10-20min - Wifi is still connected according to the UI, but we have to toggle the Wifi Off/On to restore the data connection.

- happens with some Linksys routers (E4200, E4500). Has anyone reported the bug with another Wifi router ?

(same routers work perfectly fine with all the other mobile devices/computers)

- happens on 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz

- iPad factory reset and/or network setting reset doesn't help.

- disabling the location services doesn't help

Enough information to file a bug ? 😐

Same issue here.

I have a new IPad Air 2 (wi-fi only). After I wake it up from sleep, several apps are unable to connect to the internet. Safari is one of them, Secret Passages is another, Nest another. I can get mail, but these other apps fail to connect, If I restart the iPad, it can connect again with these apps, until the next time it awakes from sleep.

I saw this happening on my iPad 3, with the introduction of IOS 8 (or maybe 8.01), and just figured it was getting old and tired, but it happens with the new iPad too.

It is very frustrating to constantly have to reboot the iPad. Can anyone help? Is this a known problem with a fix on the way, I hope.

There is NOTHING wrong with everyone's routers -- the problem lies with Apple - I have a Netgear WNDR3700 a/b/g/n router that has been absolutely ROCK solid with my ipad 2 and Iphone 4s for years. I have profiled my 2.4GHz and 5Ghz bands & I'm using a channel with the least amount of noise and traffic. I've had the Ipad Air 2 now for 4 days now and the 2.4Ghz wifi is great but for some reason or another particularly when its not in use the wifi either slows to a crawl or disconnects. Nothing short of a hard reset brings the wifi back to life - Again this is the first time Apple has chipset that support a/b/g/n/ & ac and an OS that supports all 5 protocols. Get cracking Apple ---

Coincidentally Iphone 6 is reporting similar issues with their wifi ...
