iPhone 6 Music Volume Drop After Notification

I have an iPhone 6 running iOS 8 (version 8.1). Usually, when I receive a notification while listening to music via headphones, the volume of the song drops slightly for the notification sound to alert me and then returns to normal. I've recently noticed that it often seems to get "stuck" in a low volume and either goes back to normal after waiting 3-10 minutes or when I receive another notification. Has anybody else had this problem? can anyone give suggestions on how to permanently fix this problem? Thanks!

This is a big problem for me while enjoying my new Pioneer nex5100 in car play mode , bluetooth mode or usb mode

Not acceptable

I just removed my Facebook and other music apps. will check it again however has anyone narrowed this down to a particular app?

My song will go low , sometimes in the middle of a song and if I hit rewind to start the song over ,,, the volume goes back to normal

Gonna make an apointment with apple now

this is not good

Please advise to any headway with this problem

I have the same problem. I have Iphone 6+ running iOS 8.4.1. My volume drops randomly for no reason.

I've noticed this awhile ago, but just until today it started to anoye me. (i guess searching for an excuse to upgrade) lol.

My quick fix is to send my self an email, once the notification comes thru, the volume goes back up.

I hope Apple has a fix for this soon.. Samsung's dont have this type of issues..

Same problem here. Immensely frustrating as the only reason I'm sticking with iPhone is as it used to be the better music player.

Combined with the phantom tracks that appear and then skip (let alone the false memory storage where it says you have 6GB free but then won't store 25mb of music extra).

Think they need to return the focus on the iPhone as a music player for a while to make sure that it's stable and works fluidly with iTunes rather than bugging out all the time.

I can confirm the problem still exists even after upgrading my iPAD (4th Gen) to iOS 9.0.2 and have the same problem with my iPhone 6 running iOS 8.4.1. The volume comes back to normal if I pause/start or fwd/rev the audio/video tracks. Problem happens in Music, Video, Netflix or any other media streaming apps. The problem is more than a year old and it's quite frustrating ... takes the fun out of listening to music. I wonder if the tech folks in Apple monitor this forum?

I narrowed it down to the Facebook app! I removed my Facebook app and no more volume issue . Apple Tech guy thought it may have been my Bluetooth. Thank god it wasn't that. I don't know if Apple is playing stupid on this issue or they just don't know. This kind of crap is just not gonna work for me. We buy 1000 dollar phones and 2000 dollar stereos for our car . We don't expect this kind of stuff from Apple. Times are changing , buyer beware, . I love my IPhone however if I have stupid issues like this that I spend time troubleshooting I just may get something that works. One-Plus Two maybe

I can confirm that the issue is still present in the most recent update.

I have recently come back to iPhone after a year break on Android. I have to say this is the worst update EVER! my phone hangs all the time, the screen flips at will, reception drops and comes back straight away, iMessage isn't working properly and now the sound!

COME ON Apple! I came back because I had faith that the device would work and not be so 'clunky' as with Android! Apple music seems to have broken my phone too...for a fee which is nice!.

I can't be force closing apps and fiddling with track times when driving so FIX THE AUDIO ISSUE NOW please!

I left Apple for a number of reasons, one of them being due to a documentary on their sourcing of Tin. I came back as Android is clunky but in all honesty I am regretting my decision. Please don't ruin your rep of having a stable OS! As is now, Android may be clunky but now so is iOS! If im going to have a clunky OS then I may aswell go Android and have a waterproof phone that actually plays music! GoogleMusic also doesn't hang when playing offline files when not connected to the internet!

Bad show Apple!

Same problem and I'm running 9.0.2. I have a job where I'm on-call. I can't turn off my notifications. This is the most annoying problem when you are working out at a nice pace to the music and the volume drops. I've tried fast forward, rewind, stop, play, unplug headphones...nothing takes my volume out of being low except waiting 10 minutes. Since the latest version it's gotten worse. Now the volume comes back higher than when I had it and rings my ears. Nothing like screaming while jogging on a trail.

I also experienced this bug today. This morning I put on a audio book on my sound system. For some reason the volume was very low, so I had to turn my sound system on almost max volume. Later today, when streaming a youtube clip to my Apple TV the volume went back to normal. But I hadn't turned down the volume on my sound system. Result: Extreme loud sound for 3 seconds, and now the TV-output on my Pioneer receiver is destroyed.

Apple: Time to fix this before more equipment (and ears) gets broken.
