I did submit this bug to them as registered developer and I also submit a link to this thread and some other threads related to the same issue and they did respond to me and ask me to send more information out of my computer, So don't worry I believe they will take care of this issue as soon as they can.

My 2 cents.

Disabling the GPU switching seems to have solved the issue on my setup. I did this 3 days ago and I'm pushing my MBP to the limit in order to force the restart and it's rock solid so far.

Here it is --> Set graphics performance on MacBook Pro - Apple Support

Click on System Preferences --> Energy Saver and uncheck the "Automatic Graphic Switching" option.

In my case, I restarted the computer after doing so, but I guess that's optional.

This has been discussed multiple times in this thread. Disabling GPU switching is a workaround for Macs that have dual GPUs. But this is not a option for Mac minis and iMacs (I believe). And it does not change the fact that Apple needs to get this fixed.

I didn't specify my setup. I have a MBP 15" Late 2011 - 8GB - Yosemite 10.10.5 - AMD Radeon HD6750M 512Mb.

I upgraded to 10.10.5 early this week and I still had system crashes, so I guess the update does not address this issue.

Disabling the GPU switching works for me, at least I know it's not a hardware issue.

Glad I found this thread because everything that's happening in here has been happening to me for months now.

Apple Store has replaced my logic board TWICE now and still have the same problem.

I thought the problem was primarily Chrome... Disabled the Hardware GPU acceleration and that seemed to lessen the crashes but I still got them. Reading this thread I just uninstalled IStats menu. ugh. Only thing that would be animated now in my menu bar is Dropbox when it syncs. Before it seemed to have crashed so I got off the dropbox app beta and installed the stable. So far that hasn't showed up as the issue in kernel panics or the console logs really.

Anyways... SO TIRED of this problem... it's a BIG problem. Caused me a lot of downtime with work.

UPDATE: Went into the Apple Store for Joint Venture Genius appt. They couldn't do anything again - offered to send it back to apple but the guy was like... all they're going to do is run diagnostics and maybe put in another logic board - obviously not going to help anything and it takes it out of my hands for another 5 days. I get a loaner but F-that business AGAIN.

SO... this issue is not an "acknowledged problem" by Apple. Therefore nobody can really do anything about it. They instructed me to call 800-APL-CARE; which I did and I got escalated to a 'Senior Advisor' who wasn't too sure what he could help me with but offered to run tests and have those sent to the Engineers.
So I was emailed a .DMG and it collected a bunch of data; I'm assuming most of my console crashes and panics and that all was packaged and I uploaded it to their thing. I'm to wait a few days until the Engineers have a chance to look through it all and get back to me on whether it's a OS X problem or whether it's 3rd party induced.

So... that's pretty much all I'm able to do until (1) Apple admits it's still an issue or (2) the new MBPros come out with Skylake chipset - because then I'll be upgrading to one of those instead and have to pawn this thing off on somebody and they can deal with it until Apple fixes the problem.

I still did not have a kernel panic since 10.10.5. But I also started using Safari instead of Firefox. I have a feeling that this may have reduced the likelihood of the crash.

However, I wanted to discuss something else. As mentioned earlier I filed a bug report (22028274) and Apple replied very promptly and asked for a coredump. Unfortunately I am currently too busy to set up a protocol system. Therefore the question to you: Would anybody be interested to do that and either sent the dumps to me or file them in a bug report to Apple?

Here instructions I received from Apple:

If you have another Mac, you can set up the second Mac as a coredump server.

For a coredump, you need an ethernet connection (airport will not work, nor will USB ethernet) from the panicking computer to another machine, or to a router. (Any Mac will work as a coredump server; you just need a gigabyte or so of free space per coredump.) On the server (non-panicking) machine:

sudo mkdir /PanicDumps

sudo chown root:wheel /PanicDumps

sudo chmod 1777 /PanicDumps

sudo launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.kdumpd.plist

On the client (panicking machine)

sudo nvram boot-args="debug=0xd44 _panicd_ip=10.0.40.2"

sudo reboot

where 10.0.40.2 is replaced by the IP address of the server. (You must reboot the client for the nvram settings to take effect.)

Note: if you are using a machine without built-in networking, or if you have a MacPro, or if you want to use firewire, see Two Machine Debugging for details.

If you hang, NMI the machine by hitting the buttons Left-⌘ + Right-⌘ + Power. This will generate a coredump file on the server machine in the directory /PanicDumps.

If you panic, the coredump file will be generated automatically on the server machine in the /PanicDumps directory.

Compress the coredump file saved to /PanicDumps, and attach that to your bug report. Coredumps are mostly zeros, so they compress very well. An average coredump of 500Mb will compress down to 30Mb or so, so compress the file before trying to attach it to a bug report.

To remove this behavior from the client machine, the command is

sudo nvram -d boot-args

sudo reboot

You must reboot to make new nvram settings take effect.

If you are using Thunderbolt, you add "kdp_match_name=en#" for some value of # discovered by "ifconfig" output.

I am happy to hear that, I am using only safari all the time and I had kernel panic after 10.10.5! 😕

I also did submit the problem to Apple as a bug but they didn't asked me to make second Mac as a coredump server, they asked me to get sysdiagnose output at the time of the hang. In terminal, "sudo sysdiagnose", or Control-Option-Command-Shift-Period! it will generate compressed report in your temp directory when it's done.

No this is something else. This is a coredump the Mac generates at the moment of the panic. So you will have to be patient and wait for a crash. I have the feeling that it depends very much on the engineer looking into your issue. The knowledge of AppleCare employees is so different... Mine seemed quite devoted.

I might do the coredump server my self when I got the time and send it to them if that will help.

in the other hand I feel that this issue have something to do with the amount of ram that used as I see everybody who experience this problem did upgrade memory to 16GB !
