This situation is truly unacceptable.

Nobody (!) can change store easily and Apple doesn't seem to understand such an obvious flaw.

Hello Apple, we really have a problem and we are ones who are paying you.

Spotify is not the answer for me, I want to stay with Apple.User uploaded file

2 years late but I believe I just discovered the solution. This just happened to me by accident when I tried to download an app from a different country, it asked me to switch countries (which I agreed to) then found myself stuck. Tried everything but then I figured reverse psychology would work. I just googled apps that are only available in the country you desire (in my case the U.S. and that app was Pizza hut) and it once again asked me if I wanted to switch countries, then boom!! Its all good now

If the Apple Music is on Trial on the iPhone, the only option from customer side is to turn off the auto renewal. In order to change the Country/Region in the App Store the Apple Music must be canceled. So, basically to cancel the Apple Music Trial, we have to contact Apple Support and ask them to cancel it from their end. Remember, if the trial is canceled once, there is no way to get the trial subscription again in the future.

So, if switching the store is kinda mandatory for you, you have to contact Apple Support to cancel the subscription from their end and they'll do it right away.

Hi, I do not often reply, but I came across the exact same issue, but did not want to cancel my apple music, so i have a work around, but i understand this won't be the case for everyone.

I am in the UK, I was asked by the applestore to change to the US store, which I did, and then I was stuck on trying to change it back to the UK. Here is how I achieved changing it back without cancelling apple music. I had app updates that I had not done for awhile, (as I have not got auto updates turned on) they were a few banking apps and UK'ish apps. When my appstore was set to USA, I clicked on my UK banking application to update, it prompted me to change to the UK appstore, I clicked OK and then it changed my appstore back to UK. It did not then auto update my banking app, it is still waiting for me to click update.

Yes this is a huge pain to say to everyone, hey leave some applications in your "updates" section, so you can change appstores, but I am unsure of any other way.

Hope this helps somebody who was as frustrated as me.

RIP Steve Jobs - He wouldn't of let this happen!

Hi everyone who are facing the same problem as i did before; I actually found a solution to this problem without having to wait 3 months till the trial period ends; I first open App Store and just tap on any app like I'm about to purchase/get it; then the "change store" does appeared and I tap on it; It then directly change store for me based on the country which it available. And yes, i'm able to do any purchase or download music in App Store, iTunes and Apple Music.

Okay I have been trying to switch from US store to Canadian for the longest time and

a solution i found that worked for me is that if you have an(other) account that is created in the Canadian store, and you log into that account, you will be able to access the Canadian (or which ever regioni u desire this case) app store, and apple music etc. Since it will switch back itself

But that is, of course, if you have another account that is in the canadian store, if you don't then this wouldnt work.

Surprise apple still haven't fixed this yet

I found a solution!

So basically i accidentally changed my country region in the app store so i couldnt use my apple music and for using my apple music, i had to change the country back to mine and for that i needed to cancel my apple music subscription so what i did was, since i am from india, i searched google for india only apps and tapped on one app and since it was india only, it said this app isnt available in your country and i clicked on change county, it switched me back to the indian store, and my apple music started to work again..

Hope this helps..

May be a bit late but I just had this problem a while ago and I discovered that if you look for an app for a certain country (google for one or check your purchased), the App Store prompts if you want to change your App Store to that specific country.

No passwords needed or no need to wait for Apple Music to expire. But the app has to be available in that specific country only--since if it's international you'll still be stuck in the same App Store.
