Podcast app crashing in iOS 9

That's great- I have been using the free version which has worked fine for all my needs. I understand the paid app is even more robust!

This is discouraging. I just sent feedback to Apple. If anyone with this issue hasn't yet done so, it may help if more users contact Apple directly about this:

I am also having the same problem, and as some of the other users have suggested I am thinking it may only affect users with lots of podcasts (I am subscribed to lots, and have lots saved).

As for whether or not Apple knows about this bug, I hope they are reading the forums, but it may also help to send them some feedback:

I guess filing a bug (which I just did) is likely a better choice than sending feedback... If I hear back I will update this thread.

Multiple resets, restores, no backup and with older backup - nothing. The best was about 15 seconds of what looked like it was working, then crash.... any ideas out there?

Maybe the solved comment should be removed, since it has not been solved unless you want to lose everything on your phone and have to start all over?

Yes, just upgraded to iOS 9.0 on my iPad Air and guess what? Podcasts app is crashing. Same as all the others, updating library and then blanks outs and returns to home screen.

This is a major issue for me (and many others) .... Come on apple ,let's get this sorted!

I had the same problem on my IPod Touch after installing the update. Never do that again! I restored to a previous backup (2 months ago) and now I am able to access podcasts. Not fun

App opens, says Updating Library and then crashes.

Same problem here. A full wipe and rebuild of my iPad 2 didn't fix the problem at all. So for anyone trying that idea, don't bother. In my case the Podcast App stays open for about 10 seconds and then crashes. It's also downloading a ton of podcasts from my subscriptions in the background, which is hard to stop when it's crashing before I can get to the settings. I specifically set all of my podcasts to download manually when I want them. And this option seems to have been ignored with the bugs in this new release.
