My iPhone 6s home button is really hot and the device won't turn on

i have had my phone since Friday, and this morning when I woke up the home button was burning hot and the screen is just black. I went to bed with it working just fine last night, plugged it in to charge, and now it won't work. Nothing else is hot, not even the charging port, just the home button is on fire. I have had the phone unplugged for an hour and the button is still on fire. I had just made the choice to switch from a Samsung to this iPhone and need to say it makes me slightly regret my choice because I have always known that apple products have tons of issues. I an not happy that I have had this phone for less than 5 days and this is happening. Anyways, is there anything i can do to fix it without having to go into the apple storeI did not finish setting up my iCloud, so to lose all of information because of a defective phone will not make me happy.

I had the same experience.

- Charged phone before sleeping

- Woke-up with black screen

- Plugged and unplugged to make sure

- Still in black screen and home button is really hot!

- Did the hard restart as mentioned on forums

I'm currently on IOs 9.0. But I think that OS is not the issue here since I see similar occurrence with phone's having the latest IOs version. Same with phones left charging overnight or no charging at all and chipsets used if it's Samsung or any other brand. All instances still having the same black screen and very hot home button.

I got in late at the office because my alarm did not work. Very frustrating. Plus seeing that there are tons of users having the same issue, made me think to just get it replaced. Though still no assurance of getting it fixed. I guess I have to go to my line service provider to file for a replacement since I did not get the phone directly from Apple Store.

Looking forward to wasting more time in talking to customer service people, tech reps, etc. Painful!...

Any suggestions?

OMG this just saved my life, i was connected to my laptop taking some pictures off my phone, i turned my laptop off got my phone/ 6s/ 64g and the home button too was sizziling hot. Left it without connection and went to sleep. I got up, it was still the same.... thanxx to these posts, I'm alive again... Taking it to an apple store for a checkup.. I had to take my beautiful glitter sticker skin, just to make sure it recieved plenty air for it to cool down, guess i have to buy a new one!!!

I am so relieved this happened to other people and not just me. I've had my 6s for a week now and this just happened to me today. I waited a few hours as I was in a long meeting and finally the battery plug in screen came on. I've had every single iphone that has come out and never had this happen. Hopefully this is something an update will fix. Mine was on 54% battery life when it happened. But it was completely drained when it came back on.

This just happened again to me last night, with the replacement iPhone 6s Plus I was given a few weeks ago when it happened the first time! At this point, I just do not trust leaving my phone on the charger overnight, as this is the second time it caused me to wake up late for work. I really wish Apple would knowledge and address this issue, as this is exceptionally frustrating.
