Boot Camp (v6): "Can't install software" prompt; Late 2015 iMac with 27" 5K, OS X El Capitan

If the DVD is a mixed 32-bit/64-bit DVD (the size of 4.7Gb seems to indicate it as such), BC Assistant will have a lot of problems with it, but VM installer will not. Using your Product Key, you can download a single-bitness ISO from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/home .

Can you help me to figure out why BC does not offer me the same option as it does everyone else?

The primary option missing, To select a .iso from the computer

To clarify, what year/model is your Mac?

You have a 2010 iMac, it will not support USB Installation. USB installation on your specific iMac will cause some drivers not to work correctly and some other hardware (GPU/Audio) not to be recognized properly.

I am also going to ask the Hosts to remove the iMac screen shot to remove your serial number image. From iMac (27-inch, Mid 2010) - Technical Specifications,

Back when I had lion, i used USB to install windows, because bootcamp had the missing option.

Although I do not have my install disk (the white one) that the mac came with and they have made rolling back impossible without it.

Now creating a 32bit windows .iso to burn..

Okay burned the 32bit windows7 and the mac did not like the dvd..

so i loaded up paralells and installed it just fine..

my goal:

never ever ever see a mac again...

bootcamp seems to be the only thing that can pull this off.

So i need bootcamp to give me the same options it used to back when I bought the thing for $1500.00

Problem solved for me. Apple support suggest to create a new admin account on my Mac. I've done that and succeed to install Windows.

If you power up the Mac with the DVD in the Optical drive, and hold Alt/Option, do you see the DVD as a selection?

If i had Lion back, there would be no problems..

Just now i dont have a DVD drive according to anything currently running

Do you see a DVD in Finder? Did you purchase Lion from the App Store? (I did, and it is listed and can be downloaded).

The farthest I can go back is Mavericks, my PC came with Ryan but Mavericks was a forced update so that is as far as I can go back so I am currently downloading Mavericks from the App Store
