Can't login to iMessage and FaceTime
MacBook Air, OS X El Capitan (10.11.4), from early 2015
Tried using the combo update and still can't login.
Likewise. Have reinstalled OS X El Capitan 10.11.4 and it makes no difference. Apple ID can login just fine to iMessage on a clean install of OS X Yosemite.
Also makes no difference if I use another Apple ID. Can't login to iMessage or FaceTime at all.
Have tried making new user profiles, both logged in with Apple ID / iCloud and not.
Tested with an iMac 27" 5K late 2015.
Nothing works... I tried two fresh installs before calling Apple and they wanted me to try another - third - fresh install. When I questioned their reasoning they checked and realized there was an issue. I thought this would be fixed within hours. Still no sign of a fix. Really annoying.
Do not bother, it doesnot work...
It isn't fixed with the combo version.
But I'm now trying with 2 step verification witch demand that I wait 3-4 days before trying.
Same here. Also tried a recovery boot reinstall. Did not work. Might be an issues with keychain. Happy for any ideas.
Same here tried all the above and still wont sign in, any idea when this will be fixed?

i think that is Apple servers fault, maybe they have problems with efficiency, to many computers wants to activate iMessage and FaceTime
Not likely. Activations work fine with OS X Yosemite, just not El Capitan.
I've downgraded (clean install) OSX to 10.11.3 and problem still occur, so this is no software issue

See this thread: ** Clean Install OS X El Capitan 10.11.4 -- iMessage/FaceTime Activation Doesn't Work
I believe the issue is with a CLEAN INSTALL....
you are right but with 10.11.4
I've tried also with clean install 10.11.3 and the problem still occur, earlier I don't experience any problems with iMessage and FT activation on clean install 10.11.3
I did a clean install on my sisters MacBook Pro, and now she has the same problem and can't login to Messages and Facetime.
Tried several things to fix the problem, but nothing worked so far.
Same problem here -- reverted back to Yosemite until El Capitan issues are addressed.
Unfortunately, it appears that updates are being released without thorough testing. My late 2013 iMac is running stock Apple S/W -- no 3rd party apps with the exception of my HP ENVY print driver.
FaceTime is one of the apps that I use quite often to stay in touch with family.
Very dissappointed.
A reset of the keychain solved the issue. Can login to iMessage and FaceTime again. 🙂
