@Apple ... Just want to say I continue to have this problem with an iPhone 7, ios 10.1.1.
I know that I'm still raw from the effects of the bean counters and overall neglect of core demographics on things like the MacBook "Pro", but it sure seems like one of the most-used apps on an, ahem, iPhone, would be fixed immediately. I mean after all this device is supposed to account for a lot of Apple's revenue.
Problem: The app is often frozen when one switches to the app.
When the app freezes, one cannot click any button e.g. to dial or message a contact, or to switch to other panes in the phone app etc. Some other preliminary symptoms include a flickering screen noticeable on the contacts pane.
Strangely and possibly related - I've also seemingly been missing quite a number of calls lately even when I'm not on DND. It's becoming a problem for my business activities.
The only workaround I have is to force quit the phone app, though often enough the app is so frozen that the double click on the home button won't even bring up the app switcher. I've tried fresh-install of ios 10.1.1 to no avail...
