iPhone 6 screen freezes after iOS 10.3.1 update

I'm using iPhone 6 on IOS 10.3.3, I suffer the same problem too. screen freezes a few times everyday.

Have to lock and unlock the screen to unfreeze the screen. Sometimes it becomes too laggy and I had no choice but to do a hard reboot and the same problem again and again..

I'd like to think it's the IOS problem

Ok so having spent another hour of my life on chat with another halfwit of an advisor, having reviewed data logs from the phone they are saying that iOS 11 will fix the issue.

I was wondering if anyone had already done this with any results to share? Thanks.

As I have exactly the same problem with my iphone 6, I've now detected that this random behaviour is a bit due to temperature. As soon as I have the phone at me being warm, it is working quite properly. If it lays on the table (23 degree C) it goes weird. As soon as I am outside going into the cold, it doesn't work at all anymore. Is this something anybody else has discovered?

yes, i have 6s plus and having this issue since couple of months.

Also visited the local apple store and they expect me to change the screen with a fee of $149 which doesnt make sense to me.

I have no single scratch on my phone and have never ever dropped it.

Apple iPhone is using its credibility and reliability day by day.

good for you..i was also planning to sale my iPhone and get new android....After this freeze issue which started just after 1 year of my phone..i started to hate iPhones....quality/performance/innovations all have degraded in recent years...iPhone is just a HYPE now ..its no better than a cheap Chinese phones...

I updated to ios11 yesterday and I’ve had numerous freezes on my iPhone 6 Plus. I was hoping this was going to fix this problem, but it happened so many times today, I just about threw my phone against the wall. Perhaps that’s their plan?! 😠

Well..I have the same issue.After upgrading to ios11, it worked all fine until last night and started to freeze again since this morning.

I also noticed that now my iPhone has started to go into deep sleep intermittently and i have to press my home and lock button multiple times to wake it up.

But now at least I am confident and sure that its the iOS issue not the hardware issue.

Looks like rotten-Apple has read our conversation and dont want our issue to be resolved so that we can upgrade to iPhone 8.Sorry rotten-Apple , you have lost me , a loyal customer since iPhone3g.

I am going to TRASH my iPhone 6s Plus and buy Galaxy S8.

Thanks for info, glad I didn't update now even though the apple nerd had said "the engineers have told us that the update will fox the issue". Pretty sure lying to customers is illegal.. anyway.

Did anyone figure out if replacing the screen solves the issue? I don't want to go there but that is a cheeper alternative to getting a new handset. Cheers.

I have the same issue, after all this months with this DISASTROUS problem i found it happens to me right after i unlock my phone, so i have to put it with no automatic lock. Ive done EVERYTHING AND NOTHING WORKS I NEED A SOLUTION.

Same. I got trampled by some schoolmates and dropped my pone and a small piece of glass came off and it will turn on but it won’t let me touch it bc the screens frozen and unresponsive. Do u think a screen replacement will fix this issue?!

I have the same issue that has happened on my iphone 6 with IOS10.3.1 just recently.

Phone stops responding. I have to put it to sleep mode and then wake it up. Sometimes once, sometimes twice to make it unfreeze. Seems very random. Sometimes several times per minute. sometimes once every 30 minutes...

I have tried all solutions proposed online but none solved the problem:

1. Reset network settings

2. Updated all firmware and apps

3. Cleaned the screen

4. Hard Reset via on/off + home button

5. I even restored the whole phone via Itunes as new phone

Nothing works. Extremely frustrated right now....... 😟

I m also having the same problem i have searched alot and also did all the steps like cleaning the screen turning on off factory reset but still not working

I don't know everybody is having the same problem so why Apple is not responding to it

I updated yesterday and have the same problem. Screen goes black while I am typing. Happened 6 times just now while writing a long email. 3 times in a 5 minute period. Nothing wrong with my screen. It is clearly specific to 10.3.1

If I press lock and fingerprint unlock I can continue. But I will call this release a mess.

I Have the same problem. But it this will help. a couple of weeks I had to reset my iPhone 6 Plus because this same problem started happening with the 10.3.1 beta version. It was all the same. Touch screen would not respond. I would press a letter and another would type. So I restored my phone and got to an official iOS version and just yesterday I updated it forgetting about the problems that 10.3.1 version has on y iPhone 6 Plus. Please send an update so that this problem can be fixed. It is the new update that causes this problem on the 6 Plus version.
