It is so much disappointing to see here more than 1000 messages with similar problems under this question and no problem decision from Apple.
I consider myself a loyal Apple devises customer, and I've never faced any problems with devices that I and my family use at home or at work.
But the current situation frustrates me a lot. Two days ago I was cleaning my Macbook Pro and suddenly my bottom screen panel broke. Although, I didn't press and wasn't harsh while wiping. So, I took my computer and went to Apple service here in St. Petersburg, Russia, being confident that the service would change the panel in two days because my Macbook is still under guarantee. Unfortunately, the man on the service desk after a short glance answered that this damage is considered to be my fault and the repair of the whole (!!!) screen costs 500USD.
I was disappointed and a bit shocked by three things:
1) Why the damage on the bottom panel demands the WHOLE screen change for 500 USD?
2) Why the screen panel on Macbook Pro (that is thought to be unbreakable) is thinner and more fragile than the protecting glass on my Iphone?
3) Why don't you tell your customers in your manuals not to clean this fragile place, not to touch it and not to breathe on it if the guarantee doesn't support these accidents later? You change without any complaints such thing as EarPods also because of their fragility...
And the main thing frustrating me is... Why should I pay 500 USD for a whole (!!!) screen replacement if I wasn't careless or harsh with my Apple devices, I was just caring and cleaning it...
After talking to the Apple service manager I also contacted Apple Support in a chat but I got same answers again.
I hope Apple Support can answer any of my questions :( or let me know who I can contact to get a good explanation...
Otherwise, I could later spend 500 USD and buy Apple Watch or Apple Ipad as a Christmas gift and now have to think of my screen (?) replacement.![](https://discussions.apple.com/content/attachment/d543ae66-a65b-4948-879d-17bd35679188)
