Why is the apps tab not showing under my settings list in my itunes library?

Hello. I recently made a ringtone on a ringtone app on my phone and I was trying to download it to my phone through my itunes account. However, when I click on my device in my library, and the settings list comes up, it does not list "Apps" as an option. It only lists: "Summary", "Music", "TV Shows", "Photos", "Info", and "File Sharing". The ringtone app says I need to click on the apps tab. Where is it? Why is it gone? Is it because of the new itunes update? My library used to list the apps that I had, but there are absolutely no apps on here now; only music, movies, tv shows, podcasts, and audiobooks. This is really frustrating me. Please help me asap!

The "missing Apps" is by design in the new iTunes:

No more Apps in iTunes?

Also see this discussion for the ringtones:

"Tones" Tab not showing up in "library" section of iTunes. (not on iPhone)

Download iTunes 12.7

I know what you mean. I had an app on my phone that is now no longer in the app store. In previous versions of iTunes I was able to put that app back on my device no problem. The developer has updated the app (developed a new one) and deleted the old FREE one. Now the developer is making us BUY the new one which really blows. All my passwords and card details were on this secure, safe app. Now I cannot access that information unless I buy the new app. I really hate being forced to purchase apps in the store. I made it a point not to purchase any more apps because so many developers discontinue and delete apps you have bought and unless you never restore your phone or tablet or upgrade to a new device, you are out of luck when it comes to using that app you paid for. And Apple is no help. Trying to get a refund on an app you bought is like squeezing blood from a stone. It will never happen. So I no longer support developers because of this shady way to do business.

Here is what I have found and was able to get back some apps. Some are just lost though so not completely helpful.

On an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

  • Open the App Store app, then tap Today at the bottom of the screen.
  • Tap or your photo in the upper-right hand corner, then tap Purchased.
  • Tap "Not on this [device]."
  • Find the app that you want to download, then tap . The app downloads to your device.

This company now don't give a s*** about you, me and everyone else. 😠

It's a bunch of overpaid, silly nannies, premadona programmers thinking they can do anything the want. ➖😮

The days of Steve J. looking after the good old folks that helped build his company is GONE! 😟

Now we are just sheep! 😕

This removal of apps from itunes is a bad joke, now we cannot see the APPS in itunes, sort, adjust pages, add, delete nor separate i different windows in a easy and confortable way on the COMPUTER. 😢

Please bring BACK the APP's pane to itunes! 😎

And not only that, this site isnt allowing me to click on "Helpful" for you - perhaps they won't even allow this post to be seen, either.

This is frickin ridiculous. I just spent $1400 - fourteen hundred dollars - count 'em - on a new iphone 10 and had to upgrade my icloud because the backups feature of itunes seems to be conveniently broken too, and even if it wasn't, I couldnt get all of my apps, given what you all have been stating. So I am paying for icloud thinking I can get all of my apps from my old iphone to the new, and neither it nor itunes is working to do it. And I spent hours last night on chat sessions with multiple tech support people, getting kicked off 8 times and still not getting an answer. This is not the Apple I have been faithfully paying over market price for over 30 years! I paid because it was worth it - not sure now!

***? Who is making these decisions? Does Apple want a mass exodus, taking their market share back to what it was in the 80's? This really *****.

And really - why aren't the moderators of this conversation allowing me to click on Helpful for the post I am replying to?

Not sure what I am going to do at this stage, but I am losing my faith. Steve Jobs is probably 'rolling over in his grave' - or laughing his head off!
