I have found that unlocking the phone then swiping down from the top to show your list of notifications fixes the issue of the disappearing clock. It is unnecessary to restart your phone. I have an iPhone SE with iOS 11. Hope this helps.
Do you have ANY widgets enabled?
I still have all my other widgets enabled. Only my Discover card widget is disabled. Problem seems to have gone away since I did that.
Glad this forum exists. Had it not i was ready to take my phone back to Apple. Someone from Apple should address this issue so others are know what’s happening.
Yes! Keep us posted. I will add it back too if after 10 days of it not happening.
i have reported this to Apple. T was escalated to engineering and supposedly they are working on it. That was a few weeks ago.
Powering it off and on works but after a while of normal use it goes back to not showing the clock, and it won’t show any pop up text notifications. This is really annoying!!
I have an iPhone SE, updated to iOS 11.2 and still have this problem all the time. No widgets, restarting only temporarily helps.
Restarting is a temporary fix. The problem occurs again after an indeterminate time. Even on 11.1.2.
Please fix this.
I was able to resolve by going into home screen, start camera and then use multi tasking to kill camera or close it. Whew!
No discover card. Visa card. If this is the issue then it ***** that I can’t use Apple Pay at stores because of this bug.
You can use Apple Pay. Just remove the widget.
EDIT: had some widgets after all (no discover though), removed all of them now. Will follow up.
No. The Discover card widget is the only widget that seems to be causing this issue. I removed ONLY that widget almost a month ago and I have not had the issue since.
I suspect you are seeing random luck. I don't have the discover widget, never have, and have had this issue. So I think you are seeing a coincidence, not causality.
