Well so far, the process I described has provided a resolution (almost 14 hours) We'll see how the next few days go. For me, standard mode is almost not an option. I could do it, but there are situations in which it would be unsafe.

I have found that unlocking the phone then swiping down from the top to show your list of notifications fixes the issue of the disappearing clock. It is unnecessary to restart your phone. I have an iPhone SE with iOS 11. Hope this helps.
I am having similar issues with my iPhone 7Plus, It is so frustrating. This is Iphone (APPLE 2016 flagship) and I have paid 850 bucks for this crap.
There is no solution to this problem so far. I had 7 trips to a Apple store and they have done everything from resetting my iPhone to swapping it out with a new device. Per them it’s an issue with iOS 11 but I have seen this with iOS 10 as well. Apple has lost it, time to switch over to better phones.
I can confirm that with iOS 10.3.3 had no issues like these. My relatives at home stay away from the update and they do not have problems like mine keep running iOS 10. So to me this is definitely software problem but I wonder why apple haven't fixed it after all these updates.
After I switched it to zoom and back to standard, it worked fine. I had a clock, had notifications. After a few days, I decided to test and changed it back to zoom. Sure enough, no more clock, no more notifications. After a few hours I went back to standard. Clock is back and a whole bunch of notifications popped up. I should think that Apple has enough troubleshooting from all of us to have this fixed soon.
I have tried all possible options. Nothing works.
Restarting, zoom view, and all others that are. Being Mentioned here and other forums.
The problem is not being addressed by apple.
While the android system is getting better and stable by the day, the iOS it seems is going downhill.
And like. Some say that it is working fine in zoom view. Or. I should scroll up n then down to get clock back. My point is why should I?? What if I don't want a zoom view I like standard better. And why should I keep scrolling up n down when I have paid through my nose for this instrument.
I’m still getting a clock, but no notifications on iPhone 7 11.0.2. By the way, my iPad Pro is running on 10.3.3 and I am not changing it for anything until they get this fixed. It seems like we all have different symptoms. No wonder Apple is having trouble fixing this. Perhaps they should enlist a bunch of us to be part of their troubleshooting and testing effort. Apple, are you listening? I’m a retired tech. Lots of time on my hands. 😜
Hi, even I'm facing the same issue which is so irritating.
These are the issues after updating to iOS 11
1. Clock and notifications disappears from the lock screen.
2. Camera doesn't open when swiped to left on the lock screen.
3. Screen light flashes whenever there is a notification but it doesn't popup on the screen or in the notification bar.
4. When swiped down on the lock screen to open the notification panel it is blank screen.
I have tried all possible options restarting, zoom view, and all others that are mentioned here and other forums but nothing works for permanent.
Is anyone else facing these issues? Did anyone found the permanent fix ?
Did you find any solution? I visited to Apple store for almost 6 times now, even they were clueless, they suggested me to restart, hard reset, DFU reset and later they swapped my phone but still the same issue. They even blamed me saying my backups or apps are corrupted which was silly.
This is getting even more worse now 😟, if they don't come up with the fix asap, they will start loosing their customers
There is no fix to this problem so far. I have also visited Apple store for almost 7 times in last month or so but no luck. They have tried everything from resetting my phone to swapping it out with a new device. As per them it’s a big with iOS11 and Apple engineering team is only collecting information at this point, will have to wait until an update comes out. There is no workaround so no point running around with resetting or restarting.
Not sure how removing whatsapp worked for you, basis my experience it is temporary before you will see the issue again. I even had this problem when I used my iphone 7plus with only stock apps (resetting to factory default and used as a new iphone).
Same here. And not only my clock is missing, all notifications are missing. However, if I click on the spot where notifications should show up, it actually brings up my apps. So clearly it is there, but I cannot see it. The only thing appear on the lock screen is 4G LTE bar and battery bar.
Everything was stable for a few days after the update but as others have discovered as well, the problem persists in 11.0.3. I noticed that after plugging my phone into my charger that the problem reappeared. Have also noticed that I get the tone associated with notifications but cannot see any of text on the screen in addition to a blank lock screen.
It isn't just the clock that breaks in 11.0.3 but everything in Notifications, whether phone is locked or unlocked. With support I did a whole new install of 11.0.3 and data restore and the problem still happens. Basically I have a broken iPhone. This impacts me every day, sometimes multiple times a day. I use my phone for 2FA/MFA and those notifications don't work either. This is hugely impactful and unresolved.
This happened to me on my iPhone 7...now continuing on the X - definitely annoying. Hoping they release another sofware update that addresses it because resetting and not restoring from a backup, as one of the representatives from a local Apple store told me, hardly seems like a viable solution considering the ease of transferring data is one of the main reasons many of us continue to stay loyal.
