Hey everyone I think I have at least a temp fix until the developers fix this. Turn of ALL widgets and switch your lock screen to one of the Apple dynamic wallpapers. I did this and haven’t had a problem in 6 days.
That worked for me too....not sure if anyone else noticed this or not but this bug also effects your use of the control center function when your screen is locked. I sometimes swipe up to use my camera quickly when the screen was locked and that function didn't work either. Changing it to zoomed has worked. I haven't change it back to standard yet to just test out how long it lasts before moving back to standard view.
It’s defintely not a coincidence. However, I will acknowledge that it’s possible there are different widgets that could theoretically cause the same problem. Try removing widgets one at a time until the problem stops. I would be willing to bet money that this problem has something to do with a specific kind of profile being used by some builds under the widget feature.
For me it was using the flashlight or camera shortcut on the lock screen several times a day. It would suddely stop showing the clock and the shortcuts and notifications stopped. When I don’t use them the issue doesn’t return. It’s proably a bug related to the fact that the shortcuts use the 3D Touch.
No, again.
iOS 11.0.1 installed and the clock disappears again 😠. It's coming back only after restart.😠
Same issue. Restart then it comes back. But goes away again
Can you try swiping up and then back down to clear the notifications?
No, I do need to either restart or change zoomed/standard view. Swiping down does not solve the issue.
I was able to resolve by going into home screen, start camera and then use multi tasking to kill camera or close it. Whew!
The solution I have for iPhone X:
Changed the wallpaper and got back the normal locked screen display. This worked a couple times but I usually restart my iPhone. 😟
I have the same issue and I have the iPhone X! The clock and notifications do not appear on the lock screen and I have to restart the phone each time to fix the problem.
Yes it’s okay for me for over a week after resetting the entire settings and not changing the wallpaper.
iOS 11.0.3 does not fix this issue. For now, I have found that unlocking the phone then swiping down from the top to show your list of notifications fixes the issue of the disappearing clock. No need to restart your phone.
Oh, that *****. Swiping down on the Home Screen when the phone is unlocked shows Notification Centre (with the clock) and fixes the disappearing clock on the Lock Screen on my iPhone SE running iOS 11.0.3. Perhaps this bug differs by iPhone model.
I've been having the same exact problem, restarting the phone provides a temporary fix for the problem but it's annoying when you have to restart your phone a few times a week because of this issue. Apple needs to get this figured out.
Even if the Discover App is a culprit there is still a root issue that's allowing an App to cause the clock and notifications to not show on lock screen.
I'm not sure if I saw any other posts mentioning that notifications too fail to show. I discovered this after getting a couple chimes on my phone and seeing it light up and then realizing the screen is blank save for my wallpaper. So as it turns out, when this issue manifests itself I'll get the audible alert from a notification, but the banner on lock screen does not appear and the clock is missing. Usually I'll just hit a button to check the time and find out my clock is missing and need to reset, so I was unaware of the issue with notifications until recently.
Something is wrong in the guts of iOS to allow this and Apple should find out what and why and if they need to tell developers to update their Apps then so be it. Why should we be forced to remove an App widget(s) that we may use and enjoy? I'd like to see a fix to this issue. We have several iOS devices, but so far have only experienced this with my 8 Plus and iPad Pro 10.5". I do use the Discover App and widget on both devices - I don't think my wife and daughter do on theirs however, so that may be why they haven't said anything.
I have submitted Feedback to Apple twice regarding this issue. Once for just my 8 plus then again just today because since the first submission of feedback I have encountered the issue on my iPad. Hopefully they can get it addressed so we can continue to use Apps and widgets that we have been using for some time.
