I have found that unlocking the phone then swiping down from the top to show your list of notifications fixes the issue of the disappearing clock. It is unnecessary to restart your phone. I have an iPhone SE with iOS 11. Hope this helps.

I was experiencing this all the time and removed all my widgets and so far everything is fine since then iPhone SE
still happening in 11.0.3
Eagerly updated to 11.1.
The problem is now even worse for me.
Every text message notification presents me with a blank screen.
Two days after the update and the problem is gone. iPhone 7, iOS 11.1.
Keep it this way.
Nooooo, it happens again. Sh*****t. No way. Why apple isn't fixing the problem?!?!?
I upgraded to 11.1 and removed all widgets except battery and Google calendar and the problem is resolved.

They have replaced my phone 3 times. Same issue.

Only clock and battery is working and the problem is solved. Also updated to 11.1 and there's no problem since then.

after upgrading to 11.1 I’ve only had the lock and notifications screen break once in the last week. major improvement but still not 100%.
